The publishers of the two major Spanish-language dailies in the two largest U.S. Hispanic markets Thursday announced plans to combine into the nation's largest Spanish-language newspaper chain. The
Lozano family, which publishes Los Angeles' La Opinion, agreed to join forces with CPK Media, which publishes New York's El Diario-La Presna, creating Impremedia LLC, a joint-venture that will
continue to publish the newspapers separately, but will be able to leverage better advertising sales packages and cross-promotion and marketing. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the combined
circulation of the two papers will be 725,300.
