The local ABC station in the Big Apple will run the sales process for the ads that run on the new Taxi TV system in the city's cabs.
The system, which will offer video and
information via interactive screens, will include content from WABC's newscasts and ESPN, plus restaurant and other information from Zagat.
The touchscreen monitors will be in the back seats of
cabs, and are the product of a partnership between WABC (an ABC owned-and-operated station) and VeriFone Transportation Systems.
Taxi TV has been in test mode for over a year in New York.
WABC will offer advertisers a range of options covering video spots and interactive advertising.
