Welcome to OMMA Hollywood! With the show poised for take off, we thought you might like to check out Arianna Raw on MediaPost Raw and a few of the more juicy parts – like why Ms. Huffington likes
cheese (gasp!) – from my Q&A that appeared in today’s OnlineMediaDaily. By just about any measure – blogatrix, political pundit, online media entrepreneur, fearless female -- Huffington
generates major wattage. Her acerbic social commentaries on topics ranging from the war in Iraq to global warming are widely read and commented on, and then there’s her uncanny ability to tap into a
vast network of influencers. Prior to keynoting at the OMMA Hollywood Conference & Expo, Huffington took a few moments out from a vacation at sea to conduct an e-mail interview with me.
You created a blog within a blog in Eat the Press, a highly successful daily script chronicling the follies of the mediarati. What makes it unique amid all the other media coverage out there,
all the other blogs? HuffPo and our bloggers cover the media regularly every day -- watching how the media delivers the news is every bit as important as the news itself, as we saw
recently in Nevada with the Fox debate debacle. What ETP adds is a voice that is both smart and funny, with coverage of all the breaking stories plus keen observations of larger trends and
connections. Our editor, Rachel Sklar, and her team do a lot of original reporting too and the result is a page that is always fresh and relevant, but with a voice that makes it fun to read. It's a
crowded field, but that's why ETP has stood out. We should be announcing our new political coverage and '08 election coverage plans in the not too distant future.
Tell us a little about
your Fearless book. What is the absolute bottom line in terms of creating a fearless life for oneself? This book is about building a foundation of personal fearlessness, so that all of
us -- would be leaders and voters alike -- are fortified to stand strong behind our principles. The key to building a fearless life is the understanding that fearlessness is not the absence of
fear but rather the mastery of fear -- doing what you want to do and saying what you want to say even while you are afraid.
What makes Arianna Arianna? What makes Arianna get up in the
morning with a beautiful smile that's ready to receive calls from Al Gore, Barack Obama, and John Kerry? I absolutely love what I’m doing. It’s endlessly engaging. Why would I want
to stay in bed and miss it?
What's your absolute favorite food? Why? I’m a sucker for cheese. I could exist on nothing but cheese. It’s delicious. It’s good for you.
And, best of all, it takes absolutely no time in the kitchen. You just slice, eat, and savor.
