A strange sign of the times. Arianna Huffington, new media maven/blogatrix, doing a book-signing at the OMMA Hollywood Conference & Expo. Isn't book-signing so uh, old media? Might be, but
Huffington is merely taking a page from her own evangelism that old and new media should collaborate, cross-promote, partner, and so forth. A lot of the material in her book, "Fearless" is online at
the HuffPo. There are plenty of resources, content, and references to the book, as well as expanded content to consult. Huffington says her two teenage daughters read at least seven magazines a
week in addition to their online content consumption. And that's the same for most of us. Offline media is going to be our companion for the foreseeable future because we still like the feel of
newsprint, glossy magazine pages, gorgeous celebrity (and not so) photos, and books. Yes, we still like books. A walk down the aisle of any airplane crossing the U.S. from New York to Los Angeles
will tell you that a good book is a wonderful companion on a six hour journey.
