Subway Ad Nets Grand Prize In Radio Contest

A radio ad for Subway restaurants is the $100,000 grand prize winner of the 2007 Radio-Mercury Awards, which recognize the medium's best creative commercials. It was created by Boston's MMB agency.

Sixteen agencies won more than $170,000 in prizes. They and their clients are TBWAChiatDay, N.Y. for Combos; Arnold with Crispin Porter + Bogusky for American Legacy Foundation; BBDO N.Y. for FedEx; Crispin Porter + Bogusky for Miller Lite; DDB Chicago for Anheuser Busch; DeVito/Verdi for Legal Sea Foods; Goodby, Silverstein & Partners for Comcast; JWT N.Y. for JetBlue; and MeadsDurket for the San Diego Radio Broadcasters Association.

The 30-Second Category award went to The Martin Agency for Geico.

The Spanish-Language Category award went to CreativeOndemandD for Regions Bank.

The Radio Station-produced award went to ABC Radio, Minneapolis for local advertiser Surdyks Liquors.

The Urban Category Award went to Uniworld Group for Burger King.
