Verizon Wireless subscribers can now receive WeatherBug's live weather service via text messages, Get It Now virtual store, V CAST Video, and Mobile Web 2.0SM. Earlier this month, the wireless
carrier reported choosing the weather information service for Verizon Online Web sites, serving both FiOS Internet and Verizon High Speed Internet customers.
As part of the agreement,
Verizon Wireless' Network Operations Centers and Verizon's field service teams can use WeatherBug's enterprise products, WeatherBug Protect and WeatherBug Streamer, to improve operational
efficiencies and keep field personnel safe from severe weather.
Verizon is running a series of ads in New York's Penn Station that display services available to subscribers, including eBay, NBC
News 2Go, WeatherBug, among others. New creative ads also will appear as inserts in newspapers, as well as on posters throughout the month.
