MSN Goes Green With New Environmental Channel

MSN is partnering with a slate of publishers and nonprofits to launch a new MSN Green channel--a one-stop online source for the latest environmental news. The site both explores the issues and offers visitors ways to take action.

Among the launch partners announced on Tuesday are MSNBC, Hearst Magazines' The Daily Green, Conservation International, Environmental Defense, Grist.org, TreeHugger.com and StopGlobalWarming.org.

Among the tools on the new channel are a carbon calculator enabling visitors to determine the amount of carbon dioxide their lifestyle produces, a Green-o-meter to measure how green they are, the Eco-Footprint quiz gauging eco-issue awareness, and an online petition to freeze and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
