A Northeastern University patent relating to methods of returning search results was wrongly issued and should now be invalidated, Google argued in court papers.
The search giant is asking
that the patent infringement lawsuit filed last November by Northeastern and Jarg, a
company started by associate professor Kenneth Baclawski, be dismissed.
Google also argues that Northeastern and Baclawski, who obtained the patent in 1997, waited too long to attempt to enforce
it.
