Qualcomm Adds CMO, Unifies Service-Related Business

Qualcomm has promoted Jeff Jacobs, executive vice president, to become its first-ever chief marketing officer.

In his new role, Jacobs will oversee global marketing, external communications and wireless standards-related efforts for Qualcomm. The company also announced other organizational changes including restructuring its business development efforts according to three global regions: Americas and India (under Peggy Johnson, previously executive vice president and president of Qualcomm Internet Services/MediaFLO Technologies); Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa (led by Executive Vice President Jim Wang); and Europe (headed by Executive Vice President Andrew Gilbert).

Qualcomm also unified its service-related business, including QIS/MFT, Qualcomm Enterprises Services, Qualcomm Government Technologies, MediaFLO USA, Firethorn and Qualcomm MEMS Technology, under Executive Vice President Len Lauer.
