Virgin Mobile USA has named Bob Stohrer as its new chief marketing officer, replacing Howard Handler.
Stohrer, currently vice president of brand and integrated marketing, joined
Virgin Mobile in 2003 with Handler. He was previously vice president and creative director at National Football League Properties.
At Virgin Mobile, Stohrer has helped create campaigns for the
prepaid mobile service including its "Nothing to Hide," "Chrismahanukwanzakah" and "You Rule" efforts. Stohrer may have his work cut out for him. Virgin Mobile closed Thursday around $7 a share,
well below its initial offering price of $15 a share in October.
