Fortune|Money Watches Its Money Time Inc.'s Fortune|Money Group has created a new position--chief revenue officer--as part of an ongoing shakeup by president Vivek Shah, who was
elevated to the leadership role from president of digital publishing in July of last year. The new CRO position will be occupied by Kirk McDonald, who takes over March 3.
McDonald,
who will report directly to Shah, will be responsible for managing the group's advertising sales and marketing divisions, maintaining "accountability" for all print and digital revenues. Previously,
he served as vice president of sales, marketing and client services at DRIVEpm and Atlas Enterprise, both owned by aQuantive. He also worked as senior vice president of network sales for CNET
Networks, along with roles at Ziff Davis and Conde Nast's Self.
Shah has made a number of moves aimed at turning around the struggling Time Inc. business division. In addition to closing
Business 2.0, last year he announced that Hugh Wiley has been named publisher of Fortune and Brett Wilson publisher of Money, recreating executive positions that had been scrapped
during the formation of the business network in 2006. The division also includes Fortune Small Business and CNNMoney.com.
