The presidential race is neck-and-neck on both sides, at least when it comes to winning over the blogosphere.
Barack Obama drove the largest share of blog discussions among the
remaining presidential candidates during January, with .059%. Hillary Clinton followed closely behind, at .051%, according to data collected by Nielsen Online based on a sample of 26.4 million
messages posted to blogs.
There was virtual three-way tie among Republicans with John McCain and Mike Huckabee each getting 0.29% of blog buzz, and Mitt Romney at 0.28%. Noticeably absent in the
results was Ron Paul, who typically finishes high in any online rating of candidates because of his avid support among cyber-libertarians.
Top sites for Democrats, according to Nielsen, include
BlackAmericaWeb.com, DailyKos and BET.com. Republicans turn to RushLimbaugh.com, NewsMax.com and Crosswalk.com, while Independents favor Boston.com, BostonHerald.com and MotherJones.com.
