General Motors' Chevrolet division is trying to out-green Toyota on the West Coast with a Hollywood campaign to tout the GM division's vehicles under its "Gas friendly to gas free" mantra. The
grass-roots event, "Chevy Rocks the Future" kicked off Tuesday at The Walt Disney Studios.
It featured the Jonas Brothers, who are in Disney's "Hannah Montana." The brothers tricked
out a Chevrolet Tahoe 2 Mode Hybrid SUV. The kid-friendly happening includes "biosphere" areas that have oddities like a car that pops popcorn using biofuel technology and a "hybrid" laboratory
that mixes chocolate and peanut butter (no, Reese's is not a sponsor).
GM is also using the event to show its Aveo5 subcompact, the new Malibu Hybrid and the Camaro "Bumblebee" from the
"Transformers" movie.
