Virtual local search service EveryScape has snagged $7 million in financing. Led by new investor Dace Ventures, the Series B funding round also included existing investors like Draper Fisher Jurveston
and LaunchPad Venture Group.
Waltham, Mass.-based EveryScape offers consumers "The Real World Online," or virtual representations of major cities like Miami and New York, as well as
tourist hubs like Aspen, Colo., complete with 360-degree views of storefronts and local attractions. Business owners can purchase ad space within the world, as well as populate their simulated
storefront with products, contact info and special offers.
Users access the cities via Everyscape.com and search by categories like Nightlife, Restaurants and Shopping, or look for a specific
business by name, with no need to download an application. EveryScape plans to use the funding to build out replicas of new cities, grow its sales force and add community features to existing
properties.
