When it comes to sports stars' autograph instrument of choice, it's hard to beat Sharpie markers-remember the infamous Monday Night Football/Terrell Owens Sharpie incident of 2002?
The
company's latest score is David Beckham.
"Beckham, whose autograph is among the most sought-after in the world, will become Sharpie's global ambassador in a fully integrated global marketing
campaign that rolls out initially in the U.S. in early March," the company says.
Details about the Sharpie-Beckham campaign, which will include print and online advertising, are to be announced
in May.
Sharpie is owned by Atlanta-based Newell Rubbermaid.
