Third-Party Metrics Track Facebook 'Appsaholics'

  • March 11, 2008
Since opening the site to developers last year, Facebook has gradually been adding metrics to help them track activity on their applications.

These include things like total invitations and notification conversion rates. But the Inside Facebook blog points out that various third-party Web analytics tools geared to Web applications have emerged lately.

Among them are Appsaholic 2.0 and Adonomics, which provide historical graphs of daily active user counts on Facebook. Developer Analytics tracks top applications and provides predictive demographics, while Sometrics allows developers to track traffic, demographic, and conversion data.

The service also appears to be the first to monitor traditional Web analytics and social-network-specific metrics, according to Inside Facebook.
