Think you've heard of (or thought of) all the possible link-building strategies out there? Kim Roach says think again. She's compiled a list of over a hundred tips for gaining inbound links--and they
don't include any of the regulars like "leverage Digg or StumbleUpon," or "push out press releases on BusinessWire."
For example, Roach says try starting an eBay blog. On Jim
Boykin's blog, "contextual links within the article include his desired anchor text," Roach says. And these eBay links are followed--so they can pass juice. Creating a unique CSS design and submitting
it to any of the myriad CSS galleries is also a way to generate links.
If you're confident that your content is quirky or just plain cool, try submitting it to sites like "Cool Site
of the Day," "Yahoo Picks," or "Family First"--as these aggregators of interesting tidbits can drive thousands of visitors to a featured site, in addition to the inbound links. Roach also recommends
getting acquainted with torrent sites like Snarf It. "Releasing your content on torrent sites is one of the best ways to seed a viral marketing campaign," she says.
