The Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association mobile wireless conference starts today, but mobile industry execs met yesterday in anticipation of the yearly event, at Billboard Mobile
Entertainment Live, where companies such as Nokia, NBC and RealNetworks announced new products and partnerships ahead of the big the CTIA show. MocoNews.net reported the highlights from the keynote of
Tero Ojanpera, Nokia's EVP of entertainment and communities.
Ojanpera discussed Nokia's upcoming "Comes with Music service," which will offer consumers unlimited music downloads for a year
with the purchase of a recording industry-backed Nokia phone. "Comes with Music," which is rumored to cost an extra $80 per phone (though Ojanpera wouldn't substantiate this), is very much a business
for Nokia. Currently, the only major music partner is Universal, but discussions with other major and minor labels are in progress.
