Boonty has launched Cafe.com, a casual gaming community. The New York-based casual game developer has added Café.com to its roster of gaming properties as a way to create a more social casual
gaming experience.
At Café.com, many of the more than 50 games available are multiplayer, so members can chat and search for partners, or organize teams and competitions. Players
can also create and customize an avatar, and an import feature allows them to easily invite their friends from Facebook, Hi5, AOL's Bebo and News Corp.'s MySpace.
Café.com also supports
micro-transactions via the Café Coins currency, so gamers can purchase clothing and expressions for their avatars, as well as objects that boost their in-game progress. As a way to encourage
third-party development of games and accessories, the casual gaming community's platform has also been built on an open API.
"When you combine great games and a friendly, competitive and
collaborative social platform, a new entertainment medium is born," said Café.com CEO Roman Nouzareth.
