The Discovery Times Channel's new documentary looks at why golf is a passion for many presidents and what the game reveals about how they have run the country. First Off The Tee is based on the recently published book by New York Times reporter Don Van Natta Jr. It will air Tuesday, June 24, from 8-9 p.m. Fourteen of the last 17 presidents have indulged in golf, from William Howard Taft to George W. Bush. First Off The Tee discusses the notion that each president's golf game mirrors his competitive nature in the Oval Office. Viewers will get in-depth look at the course etiquette of commanders-in-chief including Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton. Interviews include Van Natta, golfers Arnold Palmer and Ben Crenshaw, and historians.
