Killer Oldies Joins Arbitron's Internet Broadcast Ratings

Internet radio is picking up speed. Killer Oldies has recently Arbitron's Internet Broadcast Ratings and is already ranked as the number 12 individual Internet radio station with 101,549 hours of Total Time Spent Listening (TTSL) for the week of April 28.

Virgin Radio was ranked as the number one individual Internet radio station with 293,445 hours of TTSL, the sum total of hours tuned by listeners to a given station or network. MUSICMATCH Artist Match was ranked number two with 279,504 hours of TTSL. WQXR was ranked number three with 231,609 hours of TTSL.

LAUNCH, the music destination on Yahoo!, was ranked as the number one Internet Broadcast Network with 3,110,885 hours of TTSL. Live365 was ranked number two with 3,058,731 hours of TTSL. Chaincast/StreamAudio was ranked number three with 1,615,336 hours of TTSL.

Demographic Highlights for the Week of April 28 - May 4

  • The peak listening days were Tuesday, April 29, and Wednesday, April 30, with 19% of the week's online listening each.

  • 76% of weekly online listening took place between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific time.

  • 12% of the week's total listening took place during the weekend.

  • 85% of the measured listeners were between the ages of 18 and 54.

  • 69% of listeners were men; 31% were women.

  • In the U.S., 33% of listeners resided in the South; 30% in the West; 19% in the Northeast; and 18% in the Midwest.

    As Arbitron's Internet Broadcast Ratings (powered by MeasureCast technology) transitions to a subscription-only service, some stations previously reported in the ratings have elected not to subscribe to the service and will no longer be included. The ratings may not reflect all tuning for the measured stations or channels since Arbitron may have received incomplete or unusable server data.
