Gerbrandt Bolts Nielsen Analytics, Forms New Consultancy

Larry Gerbrandt, a renowned media industry consultant, has quietly left the Nielsen Co. as head of its Nielsen Analytics division, and hung out his own shingle: Los Angeles-based Media Valuation Partners. Gerbrandt's partner is Seth Shapiro, senior vice president-strategy of The Opportunity Management Co. Gerbrandt had been senior vice president-general manager of Nielsen Analytics, a unit that was created a couple of years ago to mine Nielsen's breathless array of marketing and media research data to create original marketplace insights for the media industry.
