Marking the largest growth in average visits among the six leading broadcast network Web sites, CBS.com online market share of U.S. visits increased 41% for the 2007-08 television season compared to
the 2006-07 season, according to new data from Hitwise. ABC.com, meanwhile, was the most visited television broadcast network Web site for the 2007-08 Broadcast television season, reported
Hitwise.
ABC.com received 27.14% of U.S. visits among the six Web sites within a custom category of networks followed by NBC.com with 27.01%. CBS.com received the third-largest
average market share of U.S. visits with 21.51%, followed by Fox with 17.54%.
CWTV.com received 6.61% of U.S. visits, and MyNetworkTV.com received 0.19% of all U.S. visits among the six
broadcast networks for the weeks ending September 29, 2007-May 24, 2008, according to Hitwise. The CW Web site received the second-largest growth in average visits, receiving a 27% increase. Fox.com
and aggregated sites to the domain saw a 6% increase in visits.

For the 2007-08 Broadcast television season, CBS.com had the largest amount of time spent on their site with users spending an
average of 10 minutes and 24 seconds. This represented a 39% increase compared to the 2006-07 season and largest among the six Web sites.
NBC.com had the second-largest amount of time spent on
their Web site with 10 minutes and 7 seconds, followed by CWTV.com with 9 minutes and 42 seconds. The CW received the second-largest increase in time spent--27%--on their Web site compared to the
previous season.
AmericanIdol.com was the most visited broadcast network television show Web site among a custom category of selected show Web sites from the six leading broadcast networks for
the 2007-08 television season.
Among the custom category of more than 100 television show Web sites, AmericanIdol.com received an average of 14.01% of all U.S. visits to Web sites within the
category.
