Ex-CBS Mobile Chief Heads To Kleiner Perkins

  • September 3, 2008
Cyriac Roeding, the former head of CBS Mobile, is joining Silicon Valley venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers as an entrepreneur-in-residence after spending the last several months studying cell phone use around the world.

Kleiner Perkins earlier this year teamed up with Apple to launch the $100 million iFund to make mobile-related investments. Roeding is expected to launch a startup under that initiative. "I've always wanted to go to Silicon Valley, so I thought that might be a good way to jump right in the heart of it," said Roeding, whose mobile fact-finding mission took him to countries including India, Bhutan and South Africa.

Roeding said he will start at Kleiner Perkins in two weeks.--Mark Walsh
