VW To Sponsor AOL Latino's Hispanic Celebration

Hispanic Heritage Month takes place from Monday through Oct. 15.

Volkswagen is official partner of "Vive en Español," focusing on Spanish as a cultural touchstone in bilingual households. The effort, via AOL's digital advertising business Platform-A, centers on testimonials from leading actors, musicians, athletes and executives about the importance of speaking Spanish as a connector among generations.

Celebrities like Juanes, Daddy Yankee, Carlos Mencia, Cristián de la Fuente, and Esai Morales, and former Miss Universe and life coach Bárbara Palacios will contribute. Palacios will offer tips and advice to help users manage daily challenges while inspiring them to reach their goals.

AOL expanded into Latin America by launching sites in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela and Mexico earlier this year, and plans to expand into Brazil. AOL says that in the U.S., it is one of the top two bilingual portals for Hispanics, with more than 2.2 million unique visitors.--Karl Greenberg
