Condom brand Trojan has launched a project to urge people to practice prophylaxis and birth control. "Evolve One, Evolve All" extends the brand's "Evolve" marketing campaign to call attention to the
reported 56,000 new cases of HIV and 19 million new STIs diagnosed; three million unintended pregnancies and 65 million people living with incurable STI in the U.S., and that more than half of all
Americans will contract an STI in their lifetime.
The program, developed with MTV Networks, is a branded online effort intended as a forum for discussing unplanned teen pregnancies and
sexually transmitted diseases.
The Princeton, N.J. company's campaign, centered at EvolveOneEvolveAll.com, has celebrities, musicians, filmmakers, and artists talking about the issue. Consumers
can also create their own content. Celebs involved include Josh Lucas, Alan Cumming, Gloria Reuben, Shwayze, Dana Delaney, Giancarlo Esposito and Matthew Modine.
Trojan says that each time
someone uploads new content to the site, it will donate condoms to people at risk of STIs and unintended pregnancy.
Trojan is also doing a Trojan Evolve National Tour, to make stops at college
campuses and metro markets.--Karl Greenberg
