Yahoo Names New Media Head

  • November 3, 2008
Yahoo said Scott Moore, who led the Web portal's media properties, is leaving the company and will be succeeded by Jeff Dossett. As senior vice president, U.S. Audiences, Dossett will oversee Yahoo's consumer business in the U.S., including media properties such as its sports, news and finance sites.

In his new post, Dossett will report to Hilary Schneider, executive vice president, Yahoo U.S. Prior to joining Yahoo, Dossett was executive producer and general manager for the MSN Media Network.

Moore, who had joined Yahoo in May 2005 as vice president of content operations within the media group, is only the latest in a long line of top executives to exit the company in the last 18 months. The executive exodus accelerated following the collapse of Yahoo's proposed merger with Microsoft in April and a subsequent management reorganization.--Mark Walsh
