At the request of the Federal Trade Commission, a federal judge has ordered a Florida-based company to stop selling the RemoteSpy keylogger spyware.
The FTC alleged in court papers
that the company, CyberSpy Software, instructed clients how to mask the spyware program as an e-mail attachment. When recipients clicked on it, the program allegedly installed itself in the
background. Once installed, it recorded all keystrokes.
The FTC said Monday it learned of the RemoteSpy software from the Electronic Privacy Information Center, which filed a complaint with the
agency in March.--Wendy Davis
