Before Going to Washington, Mr. Press Goes to Town

Chrysler President and Vice Chairman Jim Press was in Baltimore on Tuesday to launch what the company says is a series of town-hall style meetings around the U.S. to build support for the proposed $25 billion loan to U.S. automakers.

Press held forth on issues facing the auto industry and how Detroit's troubles affect U.S. trade, before an audience of 50 Maryland officials and employees of the state's Port Authority.

Chrysler says it is the Port of Baltimore's largest exporter of record.--Karl Greenberg
