Content-syndication for emerging media SplashCast on Thursday announced a new partnership with Quiksilver launching the Quiksilver/SplashCast 'micro-channel' for The Quiksilver in Memory of Eddie
Aikau Big Wave Invitational--offering viewers a glimpse of tournament history, highlights, surfer profiles and boardriding apparel.
The Quiksilver Big Wave Invitational opening
ceremonies took place in Waimea Bay, Oahu, Hawaii, and marked the start of a three-month tournament window.
When the conditions are right, competitors will have 24 hours to make their way to
Hawaii to participate.
The Quiksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational has only taken place 7 times in the last 24 years and honors legendary Hawaiian waterman Eddie Aikau. While
surfing enthusiasts await patiently for the ideal conditions, SplashCast's micro-channel will allow fans to keep up with the day-to-day weather conditions, receive weekly 'diary' updates from big-wave
surfer and invitee Mark Healey, and have access to the tournament history and Quiksilver merchandise.--Gavin O'Malley
