Tennis will unveil a new look and logo with its January/February 2009 issue. Pentagram, which recently redesigned
New York and
The Atlantic, is handling creative duties. "Our new
look is more reader-friendly and reflects the energy and fun of the game, which is at a high point right now," said
Tennis editor James Martin. A return to "tennis whites" is the most prevalent
change. The cleaner design includes the use of far more white space, while features will contain fewer larger photos and increase the use of black-and-white photography and silhouetted images to
better illustrate the academics.
