AOL Touts Higher Click-Throughs On Home Page

AOL said click-throughs on its primary banner ad on the home page have increased 30% since the site was relaunched in September.

The Web portal also said the redesign had led to a 13% increase in unique visitors and 14% in page views, compared to a year ago.

Over the last two years, AOL has launched more than 30 sites geared to specific categories that offer targeted advertising opportunities. Even so, parent company Time Warner reported that advertising at AOL in the third quarter was down 6% from a year ago because of weakness in display ads.--Mark Walsh
