Bonnier Splits Parenting

Parenting magazine is being split into two more tightly focused titles: Parenting EarlyYears and Parenting School Years, according to the Bonnier Corp., effective with the February issue.

Parenting Early Years, with a circulation of 1.65 million, will focus on issues of interest to mothers of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, while Parenting School Years, with a circulation of 500,000, will focus on kindergarten through elementary school. Together, the two magazines will retain the monthly publication schedule of the original Parenting magazine, as well as its circulation of 2.15 million.

Greg Schumann, vice president and group publisher of The Parenting Group, explained: "Two separate editions of Parenting allow us to provide both sets of readers with more relevant content in each issue, and give our marketing partners more targeted opportunities to reach the moms we serve."
