Politicians have a long history of infringing copyright in their quest for music that captures the essence of their campaigns. Many candidates use songs without seeking authorization, presumably on
the premise that it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. This was recently personified by Donald Trump using Queen's "We Are the Champions" before his wife took the stage at the RNC.
