  • Journal Register Company Chairman, President and CEO Robert M. Jelenic today announced the promotion of KEVIN F. WALSH to publisher of the New Haven Register effective January 1, 2002. Walsh replaces THOMAS E. RICE, who in addition to his duties as senior VP of Operations at the company, has been publisher of the New Haven Register since March of 2001. Rice will continue in his role as Senior VP of Operations.

  • KELLY APOSTOLIDIS has been promoted to Director of National Media Outreach at The Advertising Council. Apostolidis joined the Ad Council in September 2000 as Manager, National Media Outreach.

  • Thales (tal-less) Navigation has appointed LONNIE ARIMA and KAREN CARBONNET as vice president of worldwide consumer sales and marketing and vice president of corporate communications, respectively.

  • Cline, Davis & Mann, Inc. (CDM), a healthcare advertising unit of Omnicom Group Inc., announced key changes in the agency's leadership. JACK SLONAKER has been named to succeed Morgan E. Cline as Chairman at CDM. Slonaker was formerly EVP/Director of Operations. He will become Chairman/COO. EDWARD V. WISE will succeed Clyde P. Davis as President. He was previously EVP, Creative Director and now will become President/CEO.

  • MARY ELLEN (MEL) STEVENS, a 25-year advertising and marketing veteran, has joined The Motta Company, Los Angeles and Phoenix, as vice president, director of media and marketing services.

  • JOHN J. LEWIS, research and management veteran, has been named President and Chief Executive Officer at Knowledge Networks. Most recently he was CEO of SMS Technology, a venture-backed startup that supplied the consumer packaged goods industry with new technology.

  • LARRY BRAITMAN, former Flycast co-founder, and ESTHER DYSON, chairman of edventure holdings, have joined the Board of Directors at ZEDO, a Third Generation Ad Serving company.

  • The Ad Council announced today that KELLY APOSTOLIDIS has been promoted to Director of National Media Outreach. As director, Apostolidis will be responsible for developing and strengthening the Ad Council's partnership with the national media.

  • VERNON E. ALTMAN has been named to the board of directors at Roxio, Inc., The Digital Media Company. Altman is a director and global senior partner of Bain & Company, an international consulting firm.

  • WAYNE EADIE has been named Senior Vice President/Research for Magazine Publishers of America (MPA). Eadie had been Vice President of Global Advertising Research for Reader's Digest since December 1998.

  • BUDDY TEASTER is the new president of ClickPatrol, the provider of pay-per-performance bid management services. Teaster arrives after co-founding e-learning company KnowledgeBuilder and serving three years as the COO at Young Presidents’ Organization.

  • DALE ERQUIAGA has been promoted to Vice President of Brand Services at R&R Partners. In this capacity, he will oversee four of the agency’s key service areas, including public relations, advertising, media and interactive. Previously, Erquiaga was Corporate Director of Public Relations. Also at R&R Partners, CINDY DREIBELBIS has been promoted to the new position of vice president of operations. Dreibelbis was promoted to corporate director of operations one year ago, and served as managing director of the Las Vegas office for four years. Last but not least, JILL BLANCHETTE has been promoted to the new position of director of corporate promotion. With nearly 15 years of both client-side and agency experience she had become R&R’s resident expert in the healthcare industry.
