  • CHERYL LUCANEGRO has been named Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales at Salon Media Group, Inc. Before joining Salon, Lucanegro was a founding member and senior vice president of online and integrated sales at The Industry Standard.

  • BRIAN P. TIERNEY, founder, President and CEO of Tierney Communications, will take on the role of Founder/Chairman of the agency effective April 15, 2002 and will relinquish his position as President and CEO as part of a transition to a new day-to-day management team. The daily management of Tierney will be assumed by three individuals: TONY DEGREGORIO, currently Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of Tierney Advertising, will retain his position in addition to his new responsibilities within Tierney Communications. SCOTT FRANKS, currently Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will become Chief Executive Officer of Tierney Communications. MARY STENGEL AUSTEN, currently Executive Vice President and general manager of Tierney Public Relations, will become President of Tierney Communications. In addition Tierney announced that the company’s advertising division will become known as Tierney DeGregorio Advertising.

  • SANDY SMALLENS has been named President and Chief Operating Officer at Oddcast. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of Programming & Content for GetMusic/RollingStone.com, a division of Vivendi Universal Net USA.

  • National Cable Communications has added two additional Marketing Managers to its roster. JIM BEALL, who joins NCC from Cramer-Krasselt in Chicago, will be based in NCC's Chicago sales office, while DAVE BIRD will be based in NCC's Dallas sales office. Bird comes to NCC from Internet.com in Dallas, where he served as Publisher, Central Region.

  • RON GALOTTI, most recently president of Talk Media, will return to Conde Nast to serve as vice president and publisher of GQ. Galotti's appointment is effective Feb. 18. In his two previous stints at Conde Nast, Galotti was publisher of Conde Nast Traveler, Vanity Fair and Vogue.

  • MethodMail has made three marketing and sales appointments. Joining the company are SCOTT MARTIN as VP Market Development, STEFAN EYRAM as VP Business Development, Canada and DON SAMOIL as VP Business Development, Eastern US. Martin joins MethodMail from Critical Mass where he was Vice President Customer Relationship and Alliances. Eyram comes from MetaMail Inc., where he was an Account Executive. Samoil previously ran his own professional consulting practice that provided strategy and management expertise to technology startups.

  • SHARON SWANSON has been appointed General Manager at the recently created Lunch in Chicago. Swanson comes to Lunch in Chicago from TBWA CHIAT/DAY in Los Angeles, where she was management supervisor for Taco Bell and Taco Bell Home Originals (Kraft Foods, Inc.) accounts.

  • RICHARD SABREEN has been named Executive Vice President and Global Head of Media at Reuters. He was formerly Worldwide General Manager of Television and Radio at Bloomberg LP.

  • According to reports, STEVE SOLDANO, president and chief operating officer of Publicis and Cordiant Communication's Optimedia US, is leaving the company.

  • Eyeblaster, Inc. has established and filled two senior-level positions: TOM JENEN has joined the company as Director of Marketing, and STEVEN S. GOLDBERG was named Director of Business Development. Jenen was previously the marketing director for enterprise software company Opus360, while Goldberg was Director of Inside Sales at 24/7 Real Media.

  • JAMIE KUSHNICK has been named Advertising Director for New York-based METROPOLIS Magazine. He has spent five years as Senior Account Representative with the magazine.

  • ROBERT TRAMONDO has been promoted to VP/Associate Publisher from Advertising Director at Travel + Leisure. Prior to joining Travel + Leisure, Tramondo was Associate Publisher for Platinum Magazine. Also at Travel + Leisure, JOHN MCCARUS has been named Advertising Director after being Associate Publisher at The New Yorker. ANTHONY CENNAME has been promoted to Fashion Advertising Director, and will maintain his existing responsibilities as Fashion & Luxury Goods Director. Last, but not least, KAREN LEVINE adds the title of Advertising Manager, Travel + Leisure Family to her existing title of Senior Account Manager, Travel + Leisure.

  • JOSEPH KELLY has been named as Publicitas North America's new CEO. Prior to this appointment, Kelly served as PNA's president and managing partner, and led strategic planning for the North American division of PubliGroupe.

  • GARY BROOKS has been named executive vice president of sales and marketing at KnowledgeStorm. He joins the company from Ariba, where he directed global corporate marketing.
