  • Yahoo! Inc. has appointed DANIEL ROSENSWEIG, a former executive at CNET Networks, as the company's Chief Operating Officer, replacing JEFF MALLETT. In mid-January, Yahoo! announced Mallett was leaving the company to pursue other interests. Friday is expected to be Mallett's last day with the company, where he worked for seven years. Rosensweig will oversee Yahoo!'s product development, marketing, international and North American operations.

  • GREG STUART, hired last October as interim CEO of the Interactive Advertising Bureau, will be staying on permanently. Stuart, who has previously worked with Young & Rubicam, America Online and Sony Online, took over for Robin Webster, who left for personal reasons after only 10 months in the role.

  • National Cable Communications, the spot cable rep firm, has promoted three individuals to Account Executives. NCC's newest AE's are BOB DERBOGHOSSIAN (Chicago), DOUG GESIORSKI (Washington, D.C.) and JEREMY PELLEGRINI (Washington, D.C.). derBoghossian joined NCC in March 1998 as a Sales Assistant in the New York sales office. In February 1999, he was promoted to Sales Coordinator. Gesiorski joined NCC in October 1999 as a Sales Planner. He previously was an Assistant Media Buyer with Circuit City Stores, Inc. in Richmond, Va. Pellegrini joined NCC in January 2000 as a Sales Assistant. He came from Fenton Communications in Washington, D.C., where he was an Account Executive Assistant.

  • OMAR RODRIGUEZ, who was Coca-Cola Co.'s group manager-international media until 1999, has rejoined the Atlanta-based soft-drink giant. Rodriguez left Coca-Cola Co. in 1999 to consult and pursue an MBA degree.

  • BOB MAUND has been named Vice President of Sales for western region at BusinessWeek magazine. Maund was most recently U.S. director of sales and development for Technologic Partners.

  • CHARLES J. BARRETT was recently named Senior Vice President Interactive Marketing for AOL. He comes to AOL from Yahoo! where he served as Executive Director for Northwest Sales.

  • Deutsch announced eight new partners, five in the New York office and three in Los Angeles. In New York: PETER GARDINER, whose new title of Chief Media Officer more accurately reflects his leadership role at the agency; FRED RUBIN, who will now oversee the direct group in addition to interactive as Director of iDeutsch and directDeutsch working in partnership with BOBBI CASEY HOWELL, who is also being named Director of Customer and Data Strategy, a newly created role at the agency; NINA WERNER, Chief Financial Officer and JEFFREY WOLF, Director of Account Planning. In Los Angeles, the new partners are: JEFFREY BLISH, Director of Account Planning; KRISTIN BLOOMQUIST, Director of Account Management; and COLLEEN KELLY, Director of Media Planning.

  • JAMES MOLOSHOK has been named senior vice president of the Yahoo! Inc's Media & Information division. Moloshok spent eleven years at Warner Bros., where he led the company's online strategies.

  • AOL named ROBERT SHERMAN, ad veteran and former president of Time Warner Cable Advertising Sales, to the post of President of the unit's Interactive Marketing division. He replaces ROB FRIEDMAN, who has been named to the new role of Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing in charge of integrated marketing and promotions at AOL Time Warner.

  • EyeWonder Inc., creator of instant streaming video technologies for the Internet and wireless devices, today announced that it has appointed veteran television executive JAMES H. ROSENFIELD to its Board of Advisors. Rosenfield was President of the CBS Television Network from 1977 to 1985, responsible for Sales, Affiliate Relations, Operations, Engineering and Finance. In 1981 he was appointed Executive Vice President, CBS/Broadcast Group, responsible for each of the television network operating divisions: CBS Television Network, CBS News, CBS Entertainment, CBS Sports. In 1983, radio, international, and strategic planning were added to Mr. Rosenfield’s responsibilities. When he left, he was CBS/Broadcast Group Senior Executive Vice President, responsible for all broadcast activities.

  • DEAN GILGER has been named Vice President, Chief Financial Officer at Foote, Cone & Belding Southern California. Gilger was most recently Vice President, Director of Finance at McCann Erickson in San Francisco.

  • A.J. VISCOMI has joined Roska Direct as VP/Director of Client Services. Viscomi, formerly VP/Director of Direct Response Marketing at The Martin Agency in Richmond, Virginia, will head up account management for the direct shop. Executive Vice President JAY BOLLING previously held this position and will now focus on business development.

  • SUZIE ROSS has been named VP, Operations at Precision Marketing/CMR. She was previously Research Director at G&J's Fast Company magazine.

  • TOM KELLEY has joined Knight Ridder Digital as Regional Sales Manager selling The Real Cities Network. He was most recently a Sales Manager at Ask Jeeves.

  • LINDSEY P. DRAVES has been named General Manager of Multimedia Audience Research Systems (MARS). Draves was the Vice President of Client Information for Media Metrix (1999-2001) prior to joining MARS.

  • BOB MCCAULEY has been chosen for the position of Adlink's new President. He comes to Adlink from KCOP-TV and KTTV-TV in Los Angeles where he served as Vice President/General Sales Manager.

  • JAY CHIAT died in Los Angeles at 6:00 am. Tuesday morning. Chiat was the founder, in 1962, of an agency that would become Chiat/Day.
