    Euro RSCG Tatham Partners announced that CHRIS DUFFY has joined its Chicago office as Group Account Director for the Hillshire Farm, Walgreens, Wilson and Fleet accounts. Formerly VP Management Director at Foote, Cone & Belding in Chicago, Duffy’s role included international and domestic responsibilities for the Coors Light brand. Prior to and during his work at FCB Chicago, Duffy worked in the FCB Toronto office as Group Account Director, where he led the Coors account during the transition from Molson to Coors Canada.

    ELIUD KAUFFMAN has also joined the Chicago office of Euro RSCG Tatham Partners as Management Supervisor of the agency’s Red Lobster account. Formerly Director of the Latino Division at Clifford Public Relations in Los Angeles where he opened the L.A. office and launched the agency’s Latino division, Kauffman worked on the AT&T Wireless and Smithsonian accounts. Earlier Kauffman served as an Account Supervisor at A.D.D. Marketing and Advertising in L.A.

At JWT Mauery also served as Group Management Director, Business Development Director heading all new business activities and as Director, Digital@JWT.

    BURST! Media, a provider of Internet advertising services, has hired HEATHER WETZLER as their new Outside Sales Representative for the Northeast. Most recently she was the New England Account Manager for the Mplayer Entertainment Network. Prior to Mplayer, she worked for Real Media and Direct Marketing News. Before entering sales Wetzel was a television and radio producer for major media companies such as Lifetime Television, United Stations Radio Networks and Hearst Entertainment.

  • Speaking of McCann: Cordiant Communications Group Finance Director ART D'ANGELO will leave his post to take the vacant CFO job at McCann-Erickson WorldGroup. He fills the post previously held by Sal LaGreca, who made an abrupt exit last month in the wake of accounting errors at the New York-based company. D'Angelo joined Bates USA in 1994 as EVP and Chief Financial Officer. Since then, he's ascended through the New York-based agency and its parent, CCG. He was appointed to CCG's board as finance director in December 1997 and stepped down from his post as CFO of Bates Worldwide in March 2001.

  • CARA DAVID was named Vice President/Corporate Sales & Marketing at American Express Publishing. Most recently she was Corporate Sales & Marketing Director. David has been with American Express Publishing since 1997, when she joined Travel + Leisure as a Senior Account Manager.

    Boede&partners, an integrated marketing firm, announced that TED TSANDES has been promoted to Partner from Creative Director. Tsandes joined boede&partners in early 2002 and was quickly promoted to Creative Director. Tsandes also served as Associate Creative Director at Euro RSCG DSW Partners and Senior Copywriter at Campbell LaCoste.

    Clear Channel Communications announced the appointment of JEFFREY J. WHITSON to the position of Vice President and General Manager of its Albany television stations WXXA (FOX) and WEDG (UPN). After having previously served in key sales positions at the Clear Channel Jacksonville, Florida, and Albany, New York, television stations, Whitson became Director of Sales for WXXA/WEDG a year ago. He has also held sales management positions for radio groups in Albany, New York, and Durham, North Carolina, and was Vice President of the AdMax –Telemedia advertising network based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

    RICK THOMPSON has been named Group Sales Manager with Eagle Television Sales in Dallas. Thompson joined Eagle Television Sales in 1999 as an Account Manager. Previously, he worked as a Branch Manager for MMT Sales Inc. from 1996 to 1999. He was also employed with WTTO, WABM, and WDBB in Birmingham, Alabama as a General Sales Manager from 1995 to 1996 and worked as a National Sales Manager and Local Sales Manager for KDFW in Dallas from 1984 to 1995.

  • GREG MCALISTER joins Quorum Broadcasting as Vice President and General Manager of KLBK-TV, Lubbock, TX. McAlister served as KAMC President/General Manager from 1991-1999, until VHR Broadcasting purchased KAMC. Today, CBS-13 and ABC-28 work together under a shared services agreement.

    Relix Magazine, the only magazine dedicated to covering the jamband and improvisational music scene, this week announced that award-winning journalist and former Rolling Stone Managing Editor ROBERT LOVE will join the publication as Guest Editor and Consultant.

  • Chicago-based Playboy Enterprises Inc. recently said it would slash 8% of its workforce and consolidate its Los Angeles offices to lower costs and free up money to improve its namesake magazine. The company said the layoffs would be spread throughout Playboy's operations; of the 70 jobs to be cut, 20% are currently unfilled. Among the 25 people cut in the Chicago office is Playboy magazine's managing editor Jonathan Black, a 16-year veteran. His departure is a clear indication that Playboy is shifting editorial operations to New York.

    Publicis Groupe's Starcom MediaVest Group has made a change at the top of its MediaVest network. LAURA DESMOND, CEO of SMG Latin America, was named CEO of MediaVest USA. She replaces Donna Salvatore, who was named Chief Investment Strategist at the media agency, a new post. Nancy Mullahy, President of SMG Mexico, replaces Desmond.

  • The Wall Street Journal Online announced Friday that NEIL BUDDE, the site's Publisher, is departing to pursue other opportunities. Budde joined parent Dow Jones & Co. in 1987 as Associate Editor of Dow Jones News/Retrieval, now part of the Factiva joint venture with Reuters, and later he led the team that launched The Wall Street Journal Online in 1996.
