  • Mullen announced the appointment of STEVE CALDER as Executive Vice President, Executive Media Director. Calder was most recently with Citron Haligman Bedecarre (now AKQA), where he was Managing Director for the past two years and oversaw international expansion into Asia and Europe. Previously, Calder served as Media Director at CHB, working on such clients as Palm, Visa, Sony Computers and CNET, and driving efforts to integrate offline and online advertising, web development and strategy practices.

  • Mullen also announced the appointment of CATHERINE BARTHOLOW as Executive Vice President, Director of Direct and Interactive Marketing. Bartholow brings twenty years of experience spanning a broad range of agency and client positions. Most recently, she served as President of RTC Relationship Marketing, a WPP company in Washington, D.C.

  • Clear Channel Advantage, the recently launched group that provides advertisers a single point of entry into Clear Channel Worldwide's global out-of-home media assets (Radio, Outdoor, Live Entertainment) has announced the hire of the five executives: SAM SOTIRIOU was hired as Vice President / Research Director. Previously, he was Executive Vice President, Worldwide Media Research Director at Lowe Lintas & Partners.

  • JULIE DEMAIO was hired as Vice President / Media Director, Clear Channel Advantage. Previously, she was Brand Media Manager at MediaCom.

  • MEGHAN DONALDSON was hired as Associate Vice President / Marketing Solutions, Clear Channel Advantage. Previously, she was Regional Account and Communications Director for Grey Worldwide: Asia Pacific in Hong Kong.

  • LEWIS SHERR was hired as Regional Vice President, Clear Channel Advantage. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, General Manager at Youthstream Networks, Events & Media Divisions.

  • ERIC FISCHER was hired as Regional Vice President, Clear Channel Advantage in Los Angeles. Previously he was Vice President, Advertising Sales at ABC Family and Kids Advertising Sales (a division of The Walt Disney Company).

  • InfoSpace, Inc., a provider of wireless and Internet software and application services, this week announced that DANIEL RUSSELL has joined as Vice President of Advertising Sales. Before joining InfoSpace, Russell led advertising sales, media and paid distribution efforts for RealNetworks, the global leader in media delivery on the Internet.

  • Abacus, the data and research arm of Internet ad technology company DoubleClick, has beefed up its executive team. KYLE THOMAS has joined as Executive Vice President of Sales. Thomas most recently spent two years as Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Relationship Management at HNC Software, a high-end analytic and decision management software company that merged with Fair, Isaac & Company in August 2002. The Broomfield, Colo.-based DoubleClick division has also promoted Senior Vice President of Operations JOHN LLOYD to Managing Director of Abacus International. Lloyd joined DoubleClick in 1999 as Senior Vice President of Operations for Abacus U.S., and has been responsible for the development and management of data-based targeting products for both email and the Internet.

  • Tribune Broadcasting named veteran broadcast executive JOHN VITANOVEC as Regional Vice President of Tribune Television. Currently Vice President/General Manager of WGN-TV (WB9), Chicago, Vitanovec will add responsibility for overseeing the operations of WXIN-TV (FOX59) and WTTV-TV (WB4), the company's two-station cluster in Indianapolis, Ind., and WXMI-TV (FOX17) in Grand Rapids, Mich.

  • Maloney & Fox, LLC, the New York-based marketing communications firm, announced that it has expanded its New York office by adding LYDIA J. VOLES as Senior Strategist, Media Relations Specialist, and GARLAND M. HARWOOD as a publicity assistant. Voles has provided expertise in public relations, marketing and special events for both public and private sector clients including The National Book Foundation, Harper's Magazine, The New School, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Absolut Vodka, Godiva Liqueur, and Dean Witter, Discover & Co.   • Entravision Communications Corporation announced the appointment of FELIX PEREZ as General Manager of UNIVISION WUNI-TV in Boston and UNIVISION WUVN-TV in Hartford. Perez will oversee all operations at the stations, including advertising sales, local news programming and administration. Most recently he was Vice President of Marketing at Advertising at Marketing Solutions, Inc., where he provided marketing and advertising solutions to companies targeting the Hispanic market, including Ford, Audi and Chevrolet. Before joining Advertising and Marketing Solutions, Inc., Perez served as Senior Vice President of National Sales for Telemundo.
