  • Stein Rogan + Partners has appointed JOHN YOUNG the agency's Creative Director. Prior to joining Stein Rogan + Partners, Young was Creative Director/Brand Integration for Bozell. Young has also held creative leadership positions at Lowe Direct, Angotti Thomas Hedges, Bronner Slosberg Humphrey and Scali McCabe Sloves.

  • Interpublic Group vice chairman DAVID BELL was named chairman and CEO, replacing JOHN DOONER, who will resume his role as worldwide CEO of McCann-Erickson WorldGroup, a role he held prior to moving to IPG in January 2001.

  • DAVID SABLE (pictured) has been named vice chairman and president of Wunderman's worldwide operations. Sable will provide strategic counsel to Wunderman's global clients including IBM, Citibank and Kraft. BARRY KESSEL, president and managing director of Wunderman New York, will succeed Sable.

  • KERRY BRIX, has joined Tocquigny Advertising, Interactive + Marketing in the newly created position of Senior Director - Business Development. Brix was recently consulting with game and technology companies in San Francisco and Austin. He previously led the national sales efforts for Human Code in Austin, TX for 4 years prior to its acquisition by Sapient Corp.

  • Deutsch Inc. has announced that JAMIE ADAMS is being promoted to Executive Vice President, Director of Data Strategy and ALASDAIR LLOYD-JONES to Senior Vice President. Adams joined Deutsch in 1998 and most recently held the position of Senior Vice President. He is responsible for all business analysis, media metrics, direct and interactive measurement evaluation and CRM strategy for Deutsch clients like Revlon, MCI, and Novartis. Lloyd-Jones joined Deutsch Los Angeles in April 2000 and most recently held the title of Vice President, Associate Planning Director. He is currently responsible for Account Planning on Mitsubishi. Prior to his arrival at Deutsch, Lloyd-Jones was Managing Director at Osprey Communications in England, and previously worked at McCann Erickson in the United Kingdom and Young & Rubicam.

  • PHIL POIRIER has joined Crossbow Group, an integrated marketing services firm, as Vice President, Account Management. Before joining Crossbow Group, Poirier was senior director of marketing communications at Gartner Group, and director of strategic planning and marketing at UST. His agency-side experience includes work with Citibank, General Foods, General Electric, Bic, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

  • MARK LEVY, a twenty-year Radio sales and management veteran, has joined the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) as Director, Educational Services. Levy is responsible for the sales and marketing of the RAB Training Academy in Dallas along with the Professional Development Series (PDS) training videos. Levy was previously General Manager of SunMedia Systems, and served as General Manager for stations in Youngstown and Canton, Ohio and Fayetteville and Texarkana, Arkansas.

  • General Motors Corp. announced that two top vehicle division chiefs’ positions would be changing. KURT RITTER, currently marketing general manager of Chevrolet, will now become general manager of the Buick and Pontiac-GMC divisions, and ROGER ADAMS, currently marketing general manager of Buick, becomes general manager of the GM Customer Network, which handles customer relationship management.

  • PRIMEDIA Inc. announced that CHRIS MCMILLEN has been named Publisher of Stitches and Wearables Business magazines. McMillen has more than 13 years of experience in sales, management and business development, and is in his 4th year within the publishing industry. Prior to joining the apparel group, He served as national sales manager until promoted to associate publisher of PRIMEDIA's Stitches and Wearables Business in October 2001.

  • Tribune Company announced that DAVID HILLER, Tribune Interactive president, has been appointed senior vice president/publishing. In this new position, Hiller will be responsible for Tribune Classified Services, Tribune Media Services, The Hartford Courant and CLTV, and will continue to oversee Tribune Interactive. Hiller was appointed president of Tribune Interactive in May 2000.

  • Adlink announced the restructuring of their executive sales team. Their new staff includes RICK OSTER, Vice President and General Sales Manager; NEIL VISERTO, Vice President, Adlink Sports; LISA PALMER, Local Sales Manager and JANET GOODIN, Local Sales Manager. Oster is responsible for leading and directing the Adlink sales staff. Previously, Oster was the National/Local Sales Manager at KTTV-TV/KCOP-TV in Los Angeles. Viserto recently left the Washington Redskins as Vice President, Broadcast & Marketing, to spearhead the Adlink Sports sales and marketing division. Palmer and Goodin will manage Adlink's local sales account executives and oversee their sales initiatives within the Los Angeles market. Goodin was previously the Local Sales Manger and National Sales Manager at KTLA in Los Angeles. Palmer joins Adlink from Viacom where she was the Sports Marketing Director and Local Sales Manager.

  • NORB SEUFERT joined ad agency NYCA as an Account Supervisor on the TaylorMade Golf account. A 17-year ad veteran, Seufert comes to NYCA with experience in the cereal, footwear and golf industries.

  • Tribune Media Services (TMS), a Chicago-based subsidiary of Tribune Company, has announced the promotion of STEPHEN TIPPIE to the post of vice president, marketing. Tippie will be responsible for all marketing, promotion, research, public relations and creative services at TMS. He previously worked for Systems Research and Applications Corporation as deputy director of business development, where he was a co-founder of Picture Network International.

  • Premier Retail Networks, creator of an in-store media network, announced that it has expanded its advertising sales management team with two new hires. GEORGE GIATZIS joins as Senior Vice President of Entertainment Sales. Most recently, Giatzis served as Vice President of National Advertising Sales with Oxygen Media. DAVID MEANS joins as Vice President of Advertising Sales, a newly created position in New York. Means most recently served as Northeast Manager for Time Inc. GOLF Magazine Properties. He began his career at Saatchi & Saatchi DFS Compton.

  • The Magazine Consultancy, Inc., announced the appointment of former Wenner Media executive PETER MICHALSKY to the newly developed position of Group Marketing Director. Prior to The Magazine Consultancy, Michalsky served as executive director for Wenner Media, where he oversaw corporate marketing for Rolling Stone, US and Men's Journal. Previously, Michalsky was the vice president, director of business development for Zenith Media, Inc., where he worked with Exxon Mobil and AstraZeneca.

  • Fandango, Inc., has named DAN MOHLER vice president of sales. Mohler is responsible for increasing revenues through strategic partnerships with major national advertisers, and brings more than 20 years of sales and sales management experience in traditional and non-traditional media. Prior to joining Fandango, Mohler was director of sales for the Western Region of the Ticketmaster Media Group.

  • Working Mother Media has signed NANNETTE FEVOLA as Marketing Director. Fevola comes to Working Mother from Victoria Magazine, where she worked as Director of Creative Services. Prior to that, Fevola worked for two years as Director of Marketing and Creative Services at with re-positioning the publication to the beauty market.

  • BOB PERRY has been appointed Senior Account Executive for WCAA-FM in New York, an Hispanic Broadcasting Property. Perry previously held senior level account management positions at Metro Traffic, Music Choice Television, Gemstar-TVGuide, and WKTU-FM New York, a Clear Channel Property.

  • ROY GRACE, an award-winning advertising art director who created Alka-Seltzer’s famous "spicy meatball" ads in the 1960s-70s, has died at age 66 of prostate cancer. Grace worked at Doyle Dane Bernbach, now DDB Worldwide, for 22 years of his four decades in the business, and won at least 28 Clio awards for his commercials.
