  • RON GALOTTI, vp/publisher of GQ, has left Conde Nast. Succeeding Galotti at GQ will be PETE HUNSINGER, president of Conde Nast's bridal group.

  • Hearst Magazines has named CosmoGirl! founding editor in chief ATOOSA RUBENSTEIN editor of Seventeen.

  • Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles announced the addition of HARVEY MARCO as creative director. Marco will work on the Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., and Procter & Gamble accounts. Marco comes to Saatchi & Saatchi from Fallon in Minneapolis. He spent more than 8-years with Fallon, as creative director working on Citibank, Lee Jeans, Jim Beam, Mercury Marine and Ralston Purina accounts.

  • Meredith Corporation announced that MARILYNN G. JACOBS has been named Associate Publisher/Marketing of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Most recently, Jacobs was part of the senior management team responsible for launching O, The Oprah Magazine and served as Director of Marketing since the magazine’s 1999 inception.

  • MARC EDWARDS has been named senior vice-president, marketing at Spike TV. Most recently, Edwards was the General Manager for Emerging Media Ventures, a consulting firm providing services to media concerns operating in the new media area. Edwards assisted USA Interactive in the development of e-commerce initiatives to the telecommunications and Sports Media industries. In addition, he established the US Sales and marketing functions for ExtendMedia, Canadian-based interactive TV and Web design firm.

  • Starcom MediaVest Group has added DAVID MEAD as Managing Director of Halogen Chicago. Mead will work on Disney, Phillip Morris, and Gateway accounts and assist in new business development. He comes to Starcom from mdigital, a division of MindShare Media, based in Ireland, where he was managing director.

  • The Wall Street Journal announced that DAVID FORGIONE will join the publication as Eastern regional advertising sales manager. Forgione will oversee advertising sales for the entire Eastern region. Forgione was previously a group publisher at Primedia for Motor Trend and Automobile magazines.

  • Mediamark Research Inc. (MRI) has promoted several senior executives in its sales department and expanded their responsibilities. MIKE DRANKWALTER has been promoted from Vice-President, Electronic Media, to Senior Vice-President, Media Sales. In his new role, Drankwalter will be responsible for all of MRI's Magazine and Electronic Media clients. SCOTT TURNER, who has been Senior Vice-President of Midwest and Western Sales, becomes Senior Vice-President of Agency Sales. Turner will continue his leadership of MRI sales activities outside the New York area while adding responsibility for agency sales countrywide. GEORGE KRONHEIMER, formerly Vice-President of Magazine Sales, has been promoted to Vice-President, Advertiser Sales. In his new position, Kronheimer will take on the business development role of broadening MRI subscriptions among advertisers. Andy Arthur moves from Director of Client Services to V.P. Client Services. In this expanded role, Arthur will continue to lead MRI's Client Service department and will take on the additional responsibility of growing revenue from third-party data suppliers. Lastly, RISA BECKER moves from Director of Research Operations to Vice-President of Research Operations.

  • Meredith Corporation announced that BRENDA SAGET DARLING will become Publisher of Traditional Home magazine. Saget Darling most recently held the position of Vice President/Publisher of Conde Nast Publications' House & Garden where she was responsible for sales and marketing of the magazine.

  • LAURA FERNANDES has been named Senior Account Executive with Katz Radio in Los Angeles. Fernandes joined Katz Radio in June of 2000. After her completion of the Katz Radio sales training program, she was promoted to Account Executive and began selling in August of 2000. In July 2001, Fernandes joined the Katz Radio Los Angeles team. At Katz Radio in New York, KATIE IAMELE has been named Senior Account Executive. Iamele joined Katz Radio in June 2000. In August 2000 she completed the Katz Media Group training program and became an Account Executive, her most recent position.

  • Eyeblaster has hired SAMANTHA VOISIN as Business Development Manager for the Western Region. In this role, Voisin will be responsible for managing Eyeblaster's agency, publisher and marketer relationships, as well as fostering new business. Previously, Voisin served in various capacities at Initiative Media including IT Director and most recently Vice President, Account Director for the West Coast FastBridge division.

  • Google has appointed JANE BUTLER to head up their travel category. Butler is responsible for driving the strategy for both advertising sales and product development with travel marketers company-wide. Butler joined Google from LastMinuteTravel, where she led global sales and marketing as president.

  • MARGO COBLE has been named Director of Brand Development for PARADE Magazine. Coble joined the company in 2001 as Marketing Development Director and was promoted in September of that year to Director of Marketing/Advertising. Coble came from The Hearst Group, where she was an Associate Marketing Director and Senior Program Development Manager. Also at the magazine, ALLISON WHITE has been named Director of Business Development. White joined PARADE in 2002 as Manager/Planning and Development, where she worked with senior management to develop competitive and long-term business strategies for the magazine. Lastly, LAURA WHISNAND has been named Director of Marketing. Whisnand joined the magazine in June 2001 as a Marketing Manager. She was promoted in 2002 to the position of Marketing Director/Newspaper Relations.

  • WALTER RODRIGUEZ has been named Regional Director Advertising Sales, Sony Pictures Television International. Rodriguez takes on the responsibilities of supervising all on-air advertising sales strategies and initiatives as well as overseeing annual billings for SPTI's wholly owned networks and channel investments in Mexico. Most recently, Rodriguez served as Executive Vice President and Managing Partner of MindShare Mexico.

  • FRANK M. SMITH has been named Regional Sales Manager of Entrepreneur Media. Smith joins Entrepreneur from Time4Media, where he was the Senior Account Manager for Yachting, MotorBoating and Salt Water Sportsman magazines. Previously Frank was the Senior V.P./New York Sales Director at Wilton Publishing.

  • Meredith Corporation announced that LINDA WITULSKI has been named Detroit Manager for MORE and Country Home magazines. Witulski comes to Meredith from the Detroit office of Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. where she served as the VP Sales Director for 18 publications. In that role, she oversaw all marketing and promotion and was responsible for automotive and new business in the region.

  • Cossette Post has appointed LANCE SMITH President and Chief Operating Officer of the agency. He will be responsible for the agency's total operations. Smith was most recently President of D'Arcy New York and served as Global Client Managing Director for Procter & Gamble.

  • The Advertising Council announced the selection of A.G.LAFLEY, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive, The Procter & Gamble Company, as the recipient of its 50th Annual Public Service Award. Lafley will be presented with the award on November 19, 2003, at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City.

  • The Audit Bureau of Circulations announced the addition of JESSICA COURI as manager, advertiser and advertising agency marketing. Couri was most recently with OMD in Chicago, where she acted as media supervisor for Quaker brands including Gatorade and Cap'n Crunch. Prior to OMD, she was a media supervisor for FCB Chicago on Kraft and Quaker Oats accounts.

  • SUSANA WILLIAMS has been named Western Sales Director of Interevco. In this newly created position, Williams will oversee all advertising sales and marketing efforts throughout the western region on behalf of Interevco's online client roster. Williams, who was most recently Western Manager for Interevco, will also supervise Interevco's San Francisco office. Prior to Interevco, Williams served as strategic alliance manager for Classmates.com.

  • FRANK CINA has joined the sales team at Archaeology Magazine as an advertising account manager. Cina will be responsible for a range of diverse accounts that include financial services, cameras and liquor. Previously, he worked as an account manager at McCalls and helped launch Rosie Magazine.

  • Intrapromote has named ERIK DAFFORN Vice President of the company. Dafforn moves up from his former role as Corporate Communications Director, where he supervised all client-side SEO copywriting as well as leading key accounts.

  • KEN BANKS has joined SinoFresh HealthCare as the company's Vice President of Marketing. During his career, Banks spent more than 21 years as the head of marketing for Eckerd Drugs, Circuit City stores and PetsMart.

  • MARC SMALUHN has been named Senior VP of Sales at ADTECH. Smaluhn assumes worldwide sales responsibilities for the technology provider in online marketing.

  • SendTec has appointed CARMEN ROUSE JADUS as vice president/national sales manager. Jadus is primarily responsible for managing SendTec’s digital advertising sales force, as well as developing and maintaining new advertising clients for the Company’s subsidiaries.
