  • WFofR Inc., a Richmond-based national media buying, planning and research agency, has announced the promotion of several individuals from within the firm. JANET ATKISSON, STACY MAGEE BELVILLE, and MARGARET T. WILSON were promoted from Media Buyers to Senior Media Buyers, positions in which they will track and make buys for television markets across the country. They will also handle daily communications with a multitude of television stations and travel to the markets twice a year to make buys and further develop relationships. HARRY MOORE was appointed Vice President, Director of Account Services.; he was previously Director of Account Services. Moore will lead the account team, manage the planning, execution and analysis process for selected WFofR clients and will be accountable for overall account service. Moore previously held senior marketing positions with major packaged goods companies Chattem and Brach's candies. JOSEPH TROTTIER was promoted from Account Executive to Senior Account Executive and is now responsible for supporting the media strategies of multiple national accounts.

  • Crispin Porter + Bogusky announced that they have promoted CARTER NANCE to Management Supervisor. He will be responsible for the Molson and Compass Bank accounts. Nance joined CP+B in 1999 as an Account Supervisor.

  • Carat Affiliates, a division of Carat North America, has expanded its operations to the West Coast. COLE HARTMAN is joining the company as Vice President, Director of West Coast Operations where he will be responsible for business development and client strategy. Carat Affiliates West will be based out of Carat's Los Angeles office.

  • BRYAN BLACK has re-joined Deutsch as Senior Vice President, Group Creative Director. Over the past nine years, Black has worked in several capacities at Deutsch, most recently as a freelancer, and now re-joins to work on the agency's newly-won Monster business.

  • TOM SZCZEPANSKI will be joining MediaVest LA as Senior Vice President, Managing Director. He succeeds RON VAZZANO who left MediaVest LA after 19 years to pursue other interests. Szczepanski has most recently served as General Manager of Universal McCann Los Angeles for the last 5 years. MediaVest LA is a division of Starcom MediaVest Group, one of the largest brand communications groups in the world.

  • ID Society announced that DAVID CHERRY has joined their team as Senior Client Consultant of Multimedia Development and Marketing. Cherry was previously founder and General Manager of Dennis Interactive, which closed in 2002, and then President of Cherry Interactive.

  • MICHAEL SCHULTE has been named Senior Account Executive with Clear Channel Radio and Sales in Chicago. Most recently, Schulte held the position of Account Executive with the Clear Channel Radio Sales' Emerald team in Chicago.

  • Tocquigny Advertising, Austin, announced five promotions this week. KELLY HARRIS has been promoted to Account Planning Director; she has been involved in agency-wide account planning activities and lead generation efforts since joining Tocquigny in August 2002. Prior to her move to Tocquigny, Harris worked at iXL, an ebusiness consulting and development firm, and at The Martin Agency. AMY WAGNER has been promoted to Account Supervisor. She joined Tocquigny in November 2002 as Senior Account Executive with experience with clients such as HP, Compaq, Citrix and Motorola. Wagner most recently worked at SicolaMartin in Austin, Texas. LEA ELAINE GREEN now serves as Senior Account Executive/Editor for the Dell, Inc. team's ongoing Dell eNews project. Her previous role was Program Manager. Before joining the Agency, Green worked at The Olson Group. JACKIE HOCKADAY has been elevated to Senior Print Production Manager at Tocquigny from her previous position as Print Production Manager. Previously she served as Lead Digital Operator at Capital Spectrum for 10 years. JAMES GARDINER has been promoted from Account Coordinator to Interactive Assistant Account Executive. James has played an integral part of the account service team since signing on at Tocquigny in 2002. Before that James served as Special Events Manager at Dave & Buster's in Austin for three years.

  • EyeWonder, the creator of instant-on streaming video technologies for the Internet and wireless devices, has filled three new directorial positions. As Director of West Coast Sales, JOHN SALTNES will support EyeWonder’s continued growth in the rich media space. Saltnes has more than 18 years experience in advertising sales, and since 1999 has specialized in Internet publishing in business-to-business and business-to-consumer sectors. Based at the company’s main office in Atlanta, ANTHONY TRAMONTANA will serve as EyeWonder’s Director of Southeast Sales with a focus on selling into the enterprise. Tramontana worked previously at Akamai’s corporate headquarters in Boston. Also at EyeWonder’s Atlanta headquarters, JASON SCHEIDT will serve as EyeWonder’s Director of Marketing. Scheidt has more than a decade of marketing experience, and since 1999 has led marketing efforts exclusively in the Internet video space. Prior to joining EyeWonder, Scheidt spearheaded the repositioning strategy of Atlanta-based Media1st from an Internet media production and streaming house to an application-driven, e-learning company.

  • MediaRevolution has announced that CATHRYN STILL has stepped up to Director of Marketing and Solution Development. In her new role, Still will work to integrate brand interactivity and actionable data capture into the company's products to create marketing solutions that offer brand immersion and ROI optimization.

  • ALAN IVES has been named Vice President of Ad Sales for the ABC Internet Group. Ives will be responsible for coordinating strategy for ad sales for ABCNEWS.com, ABC.com, oscar.com, and enhanced television. Since 1998, Ives has worked for the Microsoft Corporation in various capacities, most recently as the New York Regional Sales Manager for emerging vertical categories of CPG and pharmaceutical marketers for MSN Sales. In that role he was responsible for developing and implementing strategy for the creation of new ad products, targeting marketing support, and focusing selling efforts through the consolidation of key accounts.

  • The Board of Directors of the Yellow Pages Integrated Media Association announced the selection of NEGLEY NORTON as its new President. Norton will lead the Association's member publishers, national marketing agencies and supplier organizations to further raise the value of the Yellow Pages and the Yellow Pages industry. He joins the Association from Loyaltyworks where he served as Vice President-Business Development. Previously he was Vice President-Strategic Accounts for Telephia.

  • BROOKE D. REISS has been hired as Regional Sales Manager of the Entrepreneur Media Inc. New York office. She replaces SHAUN McKENNA who left Entrepreneur to pursue other interests.

  • Zipatoni announced that it has hired STACEY McDERMOTT to launch the promotional agency’s presence in Dallas, Texas. McDermott will be the Account Supervisor on the Dr Pepper/Seven Up business for all national and account-specific regional work. She will also be working with other Dallas-based clients. She has worked, most recently, with telecommunications companies Telvista and Nortel Networks. McDermott has extensive advertising experience at several agencies in the Dallas area, including Leo Burnett, Tracy-Locke, Temerlin McClain, The Richards Group, and Ackerman McQueen.

  • RealNetworks, a company specializing in Internet media delivery, announced that MARC PODELL has joined the company as Regional Account Manager for ad sales, covering the Northeast, New York and Detroit. Podell will be responsible for managing and developing new business, as well as creating integrated sponsorship and promotional opportunities. Most recently, he was National Account Manager at Ticketmaster Media Group, and before that at Ask Jeeves, covering the Midwest region for both companies. RealNetworks also announced that SANDRA GABOUR is joining the ad sales team as an Account Manager. She will be responsible for developing sales in New York and the mid-Atlantic region. Prior to Real, she worked at Netcreations, Inc. as an Account Manager responsible for selling integrated email marketing solutions for both consumer and business-oriented advertisers.

  • The Weather Channel recently promoted TERRY CONNELLY to Senior Vice President and General Manager of The Weather Channel. Connelly had been Senior Vice President of Programming, Production and Operations; he will continue to oversee these departments. Connelly led the teams responsible for on-air programming at The Weather Channel, including the concept and development of Storm Stories, part of the network's primetime programming strip.

  • Playboy has named TATIANA VERENICIN to the position of Fashion Manager and MARIE GRAVES to the position of Senior Account Executive-New Business. Both will be based in Playboy Enterprises, Inc.'s Publishing Group headquarters in New York and report to eastern advertising director Jeff Kimmel. Verenicin will manage all style-related business including fashion, footwear and watches/jewelry. She joins Playboy from RAMP Media, where she was the associate publisher/co-founder of RAMP magazine. Prior to RAMP Media, Verenicin served as a senior account manager for Dennis Publishing's STUFF magazine handling a variety of categories including packaged goods, food and beverage, and consumer electronics. Graves will oversee the development of new categories for the magazine. She comes to Playboy from Terra Lycos, Inc., where she was senior account manager for the last two years. Prior to Terra Lycos, Graves served as AVP of sponsorship sales at Sothebys.com and as account executive at 24/7 Media Inc. She also held sales positions at FortuneCity.com and Workstation Direct.

  • Empower MediaMarketing has announced that LYNN CORTELEZZI has been promoted to Director of Local Media from her previous post of Associate Media Director. Cortelezzi joined Empower in 1993 as a market manager. Following a stint as market manager at Foote Cone & Belding in Chicago from 1995-96, she rejoined Empower as local media team supervisor and senior market manager. She was named associate media director in 2000.

  • SIOBHAN LESLEY has joined Walz Tetrick Advertising as its Director of Client Services. Lesley, the former president of Valentine Radford Advertising, will lead the account service and new business efforts for the growing agency.

  • NOP World, the market research division of United Business Media plc, has announced the appointment of JIM FOLLETT as Chief Operating Officer. Follett joins the group from Information Resources, Inc., where he most recently served as President, U.S. Client Services and Consulting.
