  • O'Leary and Partners, an advertising and public relations agency, announced the addition of JIM HARRINGTON as President. Harrington was most recently President of Foote, Cone & Belding's Southern California office. Harrington brings over 20 years of global advertising experience to O'Leary and Partners, having managed the communications programs for a broad range of companies, including Procter & Gamble, Bristol Myers Squibb, Nabisco, Hilton Hotels, TaylorMade-adidas and The New York Times. He moved from New York to Southern California in 1998 as General Manager of Bozell Worldwide where he was partnered with Scott Montgomery, currently Executive Creative Director at O'Leary and Partners. Together, Harrington and Montgomery significantly grew the office, adding more than $100 million in new business. Harrington had been slated to return to his native New York in a global position with Foote, Cone & Belding Worldwide, but instead decided to remain in Southern California and be reunited with Montgomery in a growing agency.

  • The Chicago office of Draft Inc., a marketing services network, has named MEG GOODMAN and LISA BUTLER Senior Vice President, Group Account Directors of the agency. Goodman joins Draft from Performance Consulting Group Inc., which provides executive management, strategic marketing and new business development services. Butler joins Draft fromEuro RSCG McConnaughy/Tatham where she was most recently a vice president/managing partner. Goodman and Butler will work on new business opportunities and will assist on various current client projects. Goodman will work on the direct marketing side of the business, while Butler will work in promotional marketing.

  • Young & Rubicam San Francisco is bringing veteran partners BRAD BERG and SCOTT LARSON to the agency, as joint Executive Vice President and joint Executive Creative Director. The duo will oversee all the creative work for Y&R SF, and the agency's sister direct marketing agency, Wunderman. The creative department was lead by TOM PECK, Group Creative Director and CHARLIE McQUILKIN, Group Creative Director. Berg and Larson have worked together as creative partners for 13 years, most recently at their own San Francisco-based agency XL, and previous to that, at Foote Cone Belding/San Francisco.

  • UNreal Marketing has named BOB ROTHENBERG as its Executive Vice President of Business Strategy. Before joining UNreal Marketing, Rothenberg headed up his own marketing and business development consultancy. Prior to his consultancy practice he was an Executive with Venture Advertising and GSI Commerce as well as an instrumental force in spearheading DTC (direct to consumer) initiatives for the National Basketball Association.

  • DEBRA J. MENIN has joined PARADE as Vice President/Los Angeles Manager. Menin is responsible for overseeing all sales activity in PARADE's Los Angeles office. Menin, who has worked as a consultant to PARADE since May, came to the magazine with 15 years of experience in advertising sales. She has held positions at entertainment publications including Daily and Weekly Variety, Premiere and Rolling Stone. She helped launch the College Television Network and, most recently, she was at Viacom/MTV Networks, working on VH1 and CMT.

  • Also at Parade, TRICIA FULLER HOFFMAN has joined the magazine as an Advertising Sales Representative. Hoffman came to PARADE from OMD Chicago, where she was Associate Director, Print Group. She also held the position of Associate Director of Strategy for OMD. Prior to that, Hoffman was a Media Supervisor for Mindshare/J. Walter Thompson, an Account Manager for Simmons Market Research Bureau, and a Media Supervisor for DDB Worldwide. She began her career at Bozell Worldwide, where she was a Media Planner. She will be based in the Chicago office.

  • KAREN POLSKY has joined Universal McCann San Francisco as Senior Vice President, Managing Director. Universal McCann is part of McCann-Erickson WorldGroup, one of the world's largest marketing communications organizations. Universal McCann San Francisco manages media for such major companies as Microsoft and Advanced Micro Devices. Polsky, who has led teams in new business development, planning, buying, research, and strategic development, and has worked on clients ranging from technology and retail, to finance and packaged goods. Most recently she was a freelance consultant in the field of communications architecture.

  • Helmers Publishing, Inc., publisher of Desktop Engineering and Supply Chain Systems Magazine, has named STEVE ROBBINS to the position of Executive Vice President. In this role, Robbins is responsible for the day-to-day management of the sales team as well as overseeing the corporate operations.

  • Avenue Edit has hired Executive Producer, BILL FORTNEY to head up the Santa Monica office. Fortney has been Executive Producer for Mad River Post since January 2002. Recent work to come out of Avenue and its digital division SOMERsault includes Miller Genuine Draft, Delta, Pepsi, BP, Delta, Cheez-it, Disney, BP, Dove and Red Lobster.

  • The Weather Channel Companies has promoted SHARI PACE to Director of Ad Sales Marketing. She had been Senior Manager of Ad Sales Marketing. Allison Artnak was promoted to Creative Design Director. She had been Senior Manager in the Creative Design Group. JIM ANDERSON was promoted to Senior Manager of Ad Sales Marketing. He had been Manager of Affiliate Marketing.

  • Entrepreneur Media has hired BRIAN T. O'ROURKE as a Sales Associate in the Chicago office. Prior to joining Entrepreneur Media, O'Rourke was an entrepreneur. He launched EnTrends, an internationally read online magazine for people who want to start a business or make the one they have more successful. At Entrepreneur his responsibilities will include ad sales in the Midwestern region for both Entrepreneur magazine and Entrepreneur.com.

  • Microsoft TV has hired ROBERT FORDHAM as Director of Sales for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region. Based at Microsoft's UK headquarters in Reading, UK, Fordham will develop and manage strategic sales efforts in the EMEA region, securing and maintaining business relationships with current and emerging pay TV network operators. Prior to joining Microsoft, Fordham served as director of sales & business development for MoreMagic Systems in Europe. While at MoreMagic, Fordham initiated and drove a successful marketing and sales plan for the EMEA region and established and managed relationships with European partners including CSG, Intec and Motorola. Fordham held positions at CEON and Tellabs, and has served in the Royal Air Force previous to his position at MoreMagic.
