  • Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) named RENETTA MCCANN chief executive officer of Starcom The Americas, a region that includes Canada, the United States and Latin America. In her new role, McCann will work to oversee the company’s most expansive region and four media brands: Starcom, MediaVest, GM Planworks and StarLink. Since 2000, McCann has been chief executive of Starcom North America, one of the largest consumer contact organizations in the world.

  • Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles announced new members to the consumer communications department. JASON JORDHAMO was named interactive and emerging technologies media director and JIM LORDEN was named media director of Toyota business. BRUCE MCDERMOTT takes on role of brand integration director. Jordhamo oversees all interactive media planning and integrated sponsorships for Toyota. He comes to Saatchi from Doner Advertising in Newport Beach, where he was associate media director on the Mazda, PacifiCare, PacSun, and Black & Decker accounts. Lorden is responsible for setting offline media strategy for Toyota’s car segment, parts and service, and Toyota Certified Used Vehicles and Sales Events. Previously, he was senior partner, communications strategy director for Mediaedge:cia in New York. McDermott leads the events and promotions marketing group for Toyota. He joins Saatchi as a tenured marketing professional from Wunderman (Young & Rubicam Brands), where he was senior vice president.

  • Advertising.com has opened a Los Angeles sales office. JACK MACLEOD has been promoted to senior sales director and will be tasked with leading the Los Angeles-based team in the Southern California market.

  • AKQA has named SHANE GINSBERG to the post of managing director, San Francisco. In this role, Ginsberg will oversee all operations and delivery of the San Francisco office with a focus on business development. Previously, Ginsberg was the co-founder of Razorfish San Francisco, an agency that combined with SBI in 2002 to become SBI.Razorfish.

  • Tacoda Systems, a behavioral targeting and audience management company, named WILLIAM C. JARIS as director and East Coast publisher of sales. For the past year, Jaris has been senior director/publisher services at Advertising.com in New York where he initiated successful programs with a number of major media companies. Before that, from 2001 to 2003, he was senior vice president and director of sales LightningCast Inc., also in New York.

  • MPG, the media agency for Havas, has promoted TONYA DENIZ to executive vice president, managing director of research and modeling. Deniz joined MPG in January of 2001 and previously worked for multinational agencies including DDB Needham, Bates Worldwide, and Chicago-based Leo Burnett/Starcom Worldwide.

  • NED NEWHOUSE has been named chief operating officer of the Cyber Financial Network. Newhouse joins CFN from Bankrate, where he held the position of chief revenue officer from 2000 to 2004. Previously, Newhouse was employed at 24/7 Media, where he was a founding member and held the position of vice president and director of sales.

  • Redstone Communications announced that ALISON RASGORSHEK has been promoted from associate media buyer to media buyer. Since joining the Redstone team in 2002, Rasgorshek has negotiated and placed media for a variety of clients, including: Nebraska Furniture Mart, Tim O’Neill Chevrolet, Iowa Western Community College, Mutual First Federal Credit Union, Cox Classic, Sizzler, and Burger King.

  • BRENDA ROSS joined Deutsch Los Angeles as executive vice president and director of client services. Ross was most recently a group account director with TBWA\Chiat\Day L.A. Prior to that she held a variety of international marketing positions within The Virgin Group, working across Europe, The United Kingdom, United States, Africa and the Middle East. Ross joined TBWA\Chiat\Day L.A. in January 2003 to set up their brand content strategy division, and was then responsible for Masterfoods U.S.A.

  • PERRY GAA has been named vice president of strategic sales for PARADE Publications. In his new role, Gaa will focus on creating new business opportunities and enhancing existing advertiser relationships. Gaa was previously category director/consumer health care for PARADE. He will continue to oversee the magazine's pharmaceutical business. He joined the company in 2002 as a sales representative.

  • Eyeblaster promoted SAMANTHA VOISIN to director, business development, Western Region replacing CHIP RUSSO who left the company. In her previous role at Eyeblaster, Voisin was business development manager. Before joining Eyeblaser, Voisin served in various capacities at Initiative Media, most recently vice president, and account director for the West Coast FastBridge division.

  • Holiday Network, an affiliate of Cendant Corporation, promoted GEORGE LANZARO to vice president of sales and marketing. In his new role, Lanzaro will be responsible for building the Holiday Network brand through increased third-party distribution channel affiliations.

  • ClearPath Networks named KENNETH SIMRIL as chief financial officer. Previously, Simril held positions as vice president of finance at Global Crossing and as venture developer at Mobil Oil Corporation.

  • Scripps Networks has named MIKE PARDEE senior vice president of research, responsible for the research needs of Scripps’ lifestyle-media properties. Pardee joined Scripps in 1998 to head up audience and market research for the newly created Scripps Networks division of E.W. Scripps. During his tenure, Pardee has designed and conducted research in support of the rapid growth and continual branding of Home & Garden Television and Food Network.

  • Trafficmac, a provider of ad operations software, technology, and outsourcing services, announced that SARAH CHAPMAN has joined the company as global vice president and client services. In this role, Chapman will be responsible for managing and growing Trafficmac’s multinational accounts, such as MSN, The Wall Street Journal, CondeNet and others. She will also be responsible for managing the company’s teams in satellite offices around the world.

  • Brand integration company Inside Entertainment Ventures announces the appointment of MICHAEL NICASSIO as senior vice president of business development. Prior to joining Inside Entertainment, Nicassio founded Channel Island Broadcasting, where he served as president.

  • BRAD WIENERS has been named senior features editor of National Geographic Adventure magazine. Most recently, Wieners was executive editor of CIO Insight magazine, a business strategy journal published by Ziff Davis. He also has held the position of senior editor at Outside and Wired magazines.

  • Bauer Publishing USA named GREGORY SLATTERY publisher of the Women's Division. Slattery joins Bauer from Gannett Corporation's USA Weekend magazine, where he served as advertising director and was responsible for more than $35 million in annual revenue.

  • ITtoolbox, an online information provider for the Internet technology market, has promoted CHRIS ROGERS to vice president of advertising sales. Additionally, DAVID EVANS was named vice president of product. In this role, Evans will be responsible for further developing the product strategy and driving product growth for the ITtoolbox network. Prior to joining ITtoolbox, he was director of marketing development for Cendant.
