  • Wunderman has made a series of high-level promotions. BARRY KESSEL takes on a global role as chief client development officer to help U.S.-centric companies grow their business globally. Kessel was previously head of the New York office. STEVE ZAMMARCHI, who led Wunderman Chicago for the past seven years, returns to Wunderman New York as its president. Lastly, RICK SCHREUDER, who has been with Wunderman for eight years, has been promoted to president, Wunderman Chicago. He was the agency’s client lead on the Burger King business and served as director of client services since 1999.

  • Mediaedge:cia has charged managing partner MARGARET LEWIS with the agency’s overall total communications effort. Lewis will work with key clients and agency personnel to identify brand marketing opportunities. To assist Lewis, JENNIFER FUTOL was hired as manager, channel planning. Prior to joining Mediaedge:cia, Futol spent eight years at Accenture.

  • JOE BILOTTA, chief operating officer for Buckley Broadcasting, has been named chairman of the RAB Board of Directors. Bilotta was voted into the two-year term that begins on January 1, 2005.

  • Beyond Interactive, MediaCom's digital arm, has named ADAM HERMAN senior vice president, integrated media director. A newly created position, Herman will direct the integrated strategies for online, offline, and direct response media planning and buying for Beyond Interactive's client, CheapTickets. Prior to joining Beyond Interactive, Herman was the managing editor of MEDIA magazine (People on the Move’s sister publication), where he directed all editorial content for two monthly editions. He has also held several senior media management positions including vice president of operations and marketing director of MediaPost Communications; vice president, media director of The Romann Group; and senior vice president of strategic planning, database and media services for Warren/Kremer/CMP Advertising.

  • Horizon Media has promoted CHRISTINA LINCOLN to senior buyer of national broadcast and MICHAEL ALLEN to associate buyer of national broadcast. Lincoln advances to senior buyer of national broadcast up from national broadcast buyer. Lincoln joined Horizon Media in April 2000 as an assistant buyer and earned a promotion to buyer in April 2002. Michael Allen, who joined Horizon in April 2002, advances to associate buyer of national broadcast up from national broadcast assistant buyer.

  • CINDY JONES (pictured) has been promoted to vice president of consumer marketing at The Weather Channel. She was the director of strategy and development. In a lateral move, EILEEN LICHTENFELD becomes director of affiliate marketing. She was director of consumer marketing at The Weather Channel.

  • FRED SATTLER is joining PHD Detroit in the new position of executive vice president, general manager. Sattler will be responsible for leading strategic planning, media research, and consumer insight development, and PHD Detroit’s understanding of interactive technologies. He will also drive business development and help develop a system of “best practices.” Sattler joins from Doner Advertising where he was most recently executive vice president and chief media officer.

  • Reuters.com has appointed DANIEL BERNARD as its first global head of advertising development. He joins Reuters.com from CBS MarketWatch where he served as director of advertising development.

  • PETER CROFUT has joined DoubleClick as DART Motif sales account manager (West Coast). He joins DoubleClick from United Virtualities where he was director, West Coast sales. Prior to that, Crofut was director of agency relations for You Networks, a third-party rich media provider.

  • FindWhat.com has added SEB BISHOP to its board of directors. Bishop was co-founder of Espotting Media, and currently serves as senior vice president. Espotting and FindWhat.com merged on July 1.

  • Traditional Home magazine has promoted PAMELA DANIELS to associate publisher. Daniels, who previously held the title of advertising director for the magazine, joined Meredith in 2000.

  • ePrize has named JOHN SALTNES as vice president of business development. Saltnes replaces IVAN FRANK, who was recently promoted to senior vice president of strategic services.

  • Zipatoni announced that MICHAEL OLIVER has joined the agency as account director for Energizer, Hallmark, and Borden. Oliver recently worked for Saatchi & Saatchi X as an account service manager.

  • Scripps Networks has promoted MIKE BOYD to senior vice president of marketing for Home & Garden Television. Boyd, who joined HGTV in 2000 as vice president of marketing, will continue to direct and implement consumer positioning, marketing, and public relations strategies for the HGTV brand. Also at Scripps, NICOLE DESONIER has been named sales manager for the western region, to oversee accounts within a twelve-state territory and direct the company's Los Angeles-based sales force.

  • Spin has appointed BRIAN GEORGI as its corporate accounts director. Georgi will be responsible for Spin’s automotive, spirits, telecom, and financial-services accounts.

  • IRIT SPITALNIK (pictured) joins 121 Media as senior vice president sales and marketing. A 10-year veteran of the interactive advertising arena, she most recently served as vice president sales and operations at Hotbar. Also at 121 Media, CHRISTIAN CELIC joins as vice president of business development, from director of national sales at United Online.

  • Tacoda Systems has named JOSEPH PASCAL director, product management and ANASTASIA CONTOS product manager. Pascal will be responsible for developing product roadmaps for upcoming releases of AMS and new ad products now in development. Contos will focus on the launch of new ad products under development.

  • SurfNet Media Group, an Internet broadcast media company, announced that BENJAMIN BASSI has joined the organization as a consultant and business advisory board member.

  • MARY PAT KALETH has joined Archaeology magazine as the sales manager for the Detroit market. Previously, Kaleth founded her own consulting firm specializing in media.

  • Wilkins Media Company has promoted ROB FIGA to executive vice president and managing director. Figa joined the company in December of 1996 when he opened its first New York office.

  • Real Cities Network has named PATRICIA MITCHELL, general manager of TwinCities.com, to vice president, a new position. Mitchell will direct overall sales positioning and strategy, manage a nationwide sales organization, and supervise the team that develops and maintains affiliate relationships for Real Cities.

  • Velocity Sports & Entertainment has hired DAVID VINTURELLA as vice president and engagement manager of the Cingular Wireless account. In this capacity Vinturella will oversee all aspects of the Cingular Wireless account.

  • SpecificMEDIA has named PERRY NUSBAUM to the position of sales director, eastern United States. Most recently, Nusbaum was a senior account executive for 24/7 Real Media where he developed and managed advertising programs for beverage, retail, technology, business, and pharmaceutical accounts.

  • DigitalGrit has named STACY SHERMAN as senior account manager. Most recently, Sherman led online and off-line marketing programs for Weichert Realtors.

  • FirstFireworks Group has promoted RENE SANTAELLA to senior vice president, adding to his current role as chief operating officer. Santaella is responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations. In addition, FFG has hired SARA BORDO as account manager. Bordo joins the company from DDB, Chicago where she served as account supervisor on the Johnson and Johnson, Aveeno and RoC Skincare accounts.

  • NATE NICKERSON has been named deputy editor of Technology Review. Nickerson will manage all elements of the editorial process and production. Prior to joining Technology Review, he was Fast Company magazine’s managing editor. Previously, he directed the publication of Cook’s Illustrated and Family Circle magazines.

  • MARKE RUBENSTEIN has joined entertainment marketing firm The Leverage Group as an executive vice president and director of client services. Rubenstein was most recently executive vice president, director of promotions and public relations at Deutsch Inc.

  • Dynamic Graphics Group, an international source for stock photography, illustration, footage, and other design tools, announced that HARVEY JOHN MORRIS has been selected as its marketing director. Prior to joining the company, Morris was co-founder of First2Market, a brand marketing and business development strategy firm for e-commerce companies within emerging industries.

  • Intermix Media, producers of more than 50 Web sites, has named STACEY PEAR, New York manager and ANDREA ELLIOTT, category leader for movies and home entertainment. Pear, a 20-year media sales veteran, spent the last seven years at Broadcast.com, Yahoo!, and Yahoo!'s Net Road Show group. Elliott, who was most recently head of sales for Variety's Home Entertainment group in Los Angeles, is a former sales and marketing executive at Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox.

  • United Virtualities expanded its management team by three. MATIAS CHARAS was named chief financial officer; SCOTT KURTTILA was hired as business development manager, and NATALIA SILVINA SCALIA joined as director, channel partnerships. Charas will direct the company's overall financial plans and policies as well as manage UV’s relationships with financial institutions. Kurttila will identify and create business relationships and strategies for UV. Lastly, Scalia will oversee and strengthen the company's partner relationships.

  • Meredith Corporation has named BRITTA C. WARE the director of corporate research. Ware joins Meredith from The Reader’s Digest Association, where she served as director of U.S. advertising research for the past nine years. In her new role, Ware will be responsible for overseeing advertising research functions for titles such as Better Homes and Gardens, Ladies’ Home Journal, Country Home, More, Traditional Home, American Baby, Midwest Living and Wood magazines, as well as Meredith’s 150 special interest publications.

  • SUZANNE BEANE has been hired as brand strategist at Metaphor Studio. Prior to joining Metaphor Studio, Beane worked independently under Suzanne Beane Marketing Services and offered consulting to clients including United Audit Systems Inc., and PayServ Systems.

  • GlobalFluency has named BEVERLEY BIRD as its Pan-European director of agency network operations based in the United Kingdom. Bird previously held senior positions at Microsoft International, Schlumberger, Applied Materials, and Businessland. She will coordinate business development and client communications for GlobalFluency’s 13 European offices, which specialize in strategic communications for technology and telecommunications companies.
