  • Organic has named QUENTIN GEORGE to lead Organic's San Francisco office as the VP, managing director. GEORGE CONSAGRA, who previously held that post, will focus on growing Organic's online advertising business globally as the VP of interactive marketing and media. George comes to Organic from Avenue A/Razorfish where he was responsible for driving Internet initiatives for technology, entertainment, and biotechnology clients including Sun Microsystems, Mercury, Veritas, and Disney.

  • TM Advertising has named TOM HANSEN as chief marketing officer. Hansen will be responsible for the agency's new media, business development and strategic planning groups. Most recently, Hansen headed up The Gigasphere Group of Companies, dedicated to creating and delivering branded content to highly focused audiences through narrowcasting on cable, satellite and Internet networks. Prior to that, Hansen worked for Square One, Dallas, which he founded in 1995.

  • MTV has issued a string of promotions. VAN TOFFLER, formerly president, MTV, MTV2 and MTV Films, has been named MTV Networks Group president, responsible for MTV, MTV2, VH1, CMT and LOGO. BRIAN GRADEN has been named president, LOGO. He is also being named president, Entertainment, MTV Networks Music Group including, MTV, MTV2, VH1, and CMT. Graden will also serve as a creative liaison for MTV's international operations. MATT FARBER will take on a broader consulting role for MTV Networks developing additional media and entertainment opportunities for the LGBT audience as well as other underserved groups. Farber will have the LOGO founder title. Additionally, DENMARK WEST, formerly of Microsoft, will take on the role of executive vice president, strategy and business development. West will be focused on future growth for the division, with an emphasis on fostering new media platforms. Finally, LARRY DIVNEY, most recently retired president, Comedy Central, is returning to MTV Networks as COO, ad sales.

  • Empower MediaMarketing announced that BRAD BROWN and MELISSA WRIGHT have joined the agency as account supervisor and account manager, respectively. Brown joins Empower from Euro RSCG Tatham & Partners/MPG, where he was account director for the Red Lobster Restaurants account. Wright joins Empower from Professional Education Company, Inc., where she spent five years as director of marketing and e-commerce.

  • Reuters has appointed GLENN ASANO to the newly created role of head of consumer media for China. Formerly head of media for Asia where he oversaw sales and service, Asano will lead the marketing and business development of Reuters financial and business information in the emerging consumer online, mobile and television markets in China.

  • Rich media online marketing services provider PointRoll beefed up its West Coast sales team by announcing new members to its West Coast offices. RAY MCINTOSH and DOUGLAS SCHIRLE have taken on sales director positions, and KIM PHAM takes on the role of account manager. McIntosh comes to PointRoll as a veteran of the Gaming industry where he led significant sales activity at GameSpy. Schirle was with BusinessWeek Online, and prior to that, TWC Media Solutions’ Weather.com. Pham leads the campaign management process and oversees client services for PointRoll’s Western Region. She joins PointRoll from Entrepreneur.com, where she was ad operations manager.

  • The Weather Channel Interactive (TWCi) is developing a sales team dedicated to the desktop space. JAY FRESHWATER, formerly director of database marketing sales for TWCi, will assume the newly created position of director of national desktop sales. In this role, Freshwater will have responsibility for both database marketing and advertising sales for the desktop platform. SUZANNE KLARER joins Freshwater on this team as the first of several planned desktop account managers. In her previous role as database marketing account manager, Klarer was responsible for managing pre-emptible sales and database marketing for weather.com.

  • NANCY STEINFELD has joined Regal CineMedia as an account director in the company’s West Coast Sales office located in Los Angeles. Previously, she was the West Coast advertising director for Premier Magazine.

  • ROBERT SPRINGER, formerly vice president of media services for Arby's, recently joined St. John & Partners as vice president/media director.

  • Venture Communications has appointed JENNIFER CIOFFI as community director, strategic planning. At Microsoft, she most recently served as a director in the Windows Business Unit, where she developed a research-based tracking system and “dashboard” to bring key metrics to the executive team.

  • NewsStand recently added PAM CLARK to serve as account manager for newspapers and magazines. She will act as the main liaison to publisher clients, managing all digital circulation marketing programs using NewsStand e-Editions.

  • MATT GOLDBERG was named executive director, Dow Jones Integrated Solutions, a group that Dow Jones & Company. Prior to joining Dow Jones, Goldberg worked at Bertelsmann where he helped establish and lead the company's first integrated group, which focused on cross-media programs such as American Idol.

  • Proteus, a creator and developer of mobile entertainment, has named TOM WILLIAMS, director of carrier relations, and MICHAEL MALESKI, client partner. Williams will be responsible for further evolving and developing relationships within the mobile carrier community. He joins Proteus from Virgin Mobile. Maleski’s focus will be to steward accounts and serve as lead liaison between clients and the development team.

  • SUSAN SMITH ELLIS has been named an executive vice president of Omnicom Group where she will lead multi-agency client integration and business development opportunities as well as Omnicom’s key educational and teaching programs. Previously, Ellis was executive vice president of Omnicom’s Diversified Agency Services (DAS) unit where she was responsible for the integration of DAS resources for clients represented by multiple DAS companies. Prior to joining DAS in 2000, she was executive vice president, director, integrated marketing for BBDO New York.

  • Rainbow Media Holdings has named GLENN OAKLEY as senior vice president, new business development. He joins the company from Showtime Networks. Additionally, ROB BATTLES has been named senior vice president, creative services. Battles will be charged with the overall conception, development and implementation for advertising, branding and promotion of Rainbow’s businesses. Lastly, GREG MOYER and NORA RYAN were named co-general managers of VOOM.

  • Quris, a provider of customer-centric email solutions for Fortune 1,000 companies, has named SALLY HAMMOND as vice president of marketing and sales. Before joining Quris, Hammond held vice president of business development positions at Delahaye, Sagecircle and Kodak/RSI.

  • WILLIAM J. MASTELLON has joined KSL Media as senior vice president, chief financial officer, and TARUN CHACHRA has joined as vice president, chief technology officer. Former president, U.S. operations, for Firm Decisions, Mastellon was the longtime CFO for Dewitt Media and then Optimedia International. Chachra joins KSL from Publicis Worldwide, where he was vice president, IT director; before Publicis, he was MIS director at DeWitt Media.

  • CoyneBeahmShouse has named DOUG SHOUSE as its president and chief operating officer. Shouse was the vice president of marketing for RJR Reynolds Tobacco Company prior to his new role.

  • KEVIN L. WALKER and ANDERSON CROSS III have joined E. Morris Communications as Account Supervisor and Account Executive, respectively. Walker is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Tyson Foods account, and Cross manages the American Family Insurance account.

  • Meandaur has hired MICHAEL WYLIE as vice president of travel and hospitality. His duties include business and product development, partnerships, and strategic direction. Wylie was most recently the vice president of e-commerce for Wyndham International where he oversaw all Wyndham’s e-commerce efforts.

  • Ipsos has named CURT STENGER as vice president of analytics for the Ipsos-Insight Consumer Products Division. Most recently, Stenger was vice president of marketing sciences at Research International where he managed all Marketing Sciences resources.

  • Mark Clements Research has named KELLY SIRIMOGLU as managing director.

  • TrafficMentor, a Search Engine Marketing company, has changed its name to Telic Media. The company has hired WILLIAM HANDSFIELD as an account manager. He joins Telic Media from KB Homes, and will be assisting clients in Pay Per Click Campaign Management.

  • Meredith Corporation announced that CHRISTINE GUILFOYLE has been promoted to advertising director of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Guilfoyle will oversee all advertising sales functions in Meredith’s New York, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Atlanta offices. Most recently, Guilfoyle served as national sales manager for Better Homes and Gardens since November 2003.

  • Meredith Corporation also announced that SHERYL CARLSON has been named executive director newsstand sales. Carlson joins Meredith from Barnes & Noble Inc., where she most recently served as manager of the bookseller’s newsstand division.

  • Response Media Products is pleased to announce that DARRELL EDWARDS has joined the organization as vice president of brokerage. Prior to joining RMP, Edwards worked as the vice president of sales and marketing for Atlanta-based MarketTouch.

  • CHERYL EATON and DEANA HAILEY have been named partners at Kelliher Samets Volk. Eaton has worked at the agency since 1994 and is currently the director of strategic planning and research. Hailey joined Kelliher Samets Volk in 2001 as the chief financial officer. She oversees the systems group, which includes the financial, administrative, internal IT and human resources functions.
