  • Eyeblaster has named DOUG MCFARLAND, general manager, North America where he’ll be responsible for the day-to-day North American operations. Before joining Eyeblaster, McFarland was the executive vice president and general manager of Advertising.com. FRED TIETZE was named vice president, North American sales and business development. He will oversee the North American sales team, covering the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Lastly, WILMA MCDANIEL has been named director of marketing. McDaniel comes to Eyeblaster from TNS Media Intelligence/CMR, where she spent the last three years as marketing director.

  • PJ PEREIRA, president of the 2005 Cyber Lions jury for the Cannes International Advertising Festival, has joined AKQA as executive creative director. He previously was vice president and creative director of AgenciaClick in Brazil.

  • United Virtualities has hired KAREN MURPHY to be the rich media firm’s East Coast sales director replacing PAUL WEINRIB who left the company. Murphy joins United Virtualities from BostonHerald.com where for the past year and a half she was the director of business development.

  • Undertone Networks promoted JEREMY WALLACE to senior account executive. Wallace joined Undertone in 2003 as account executive.

  • Horizon Media has named WISTAR DEAN as a planning supervisor. Dean comes to Horizon from Carat’s New York office where she was a media supervisor on the MTV Networks account. While there, Dean managed all client relations for VH1, and handled the planning of all their consumer and trade media, as well as the print buying.

  • DANIELLE MARTIN has joined Forbes.com as regional sales manager. Her territory will include the mid-Atlantic region, as well as some accounts in the New York metropolitan area. Martin joined Forbes.com from SmartMoney.com, where she was advertising account director.

  • JAYNE COOPERMAN has been named vice president of planning for PARADE Publications. Cooperman comes to PARADE from Mediacom, where she was vice president/associate media director, responsible for all aspects of media planning, including consumer targeting and strategic planning.

  • JILL GRIFFIN has joined Media Contacts, the interactive arm of MPG, as senior vice president, group account director. She will be responsible for leading Media Contacts’ operations in New York and San Francisco, as well as overseeing clients ING Direct, Air France, and Comedy Central, among others. Most recently, Griffin was associate director of strategy for OMD Digital, where she led strategy for the GE PEN campaign, as well as the John Kerry for President, Dannon, HBO, NYC212, and Nokia Hispanic online efforts.

  • Time Inc. has made some recent promotions in its sales department. JOHN MEYJES has been promoted to account representative of This Old House, up from account manager of Travel & Leisure.MATTHEW SESSIONS has been elevated to account manager, Sunset Magazine, from account executive, Northern California, Media Newtworks Inc. (MNI), Time Inc., Time Warner. Lastly, TIM RICHARDS has been named vice president corporate sales Northwest Region, Time Inc. San Francisco. Most recently he was division manager, Fortune magazine.

  • GUTHRIE DOLIN has joined Organic's San Francisco office to lead the creative direction for West Coast clients. CHRISTIAN HAAS, who served as creative director in San Francisco for three years, was also promoted to group creative director and will lead the creative online advertising initiatives across the Organic network. The agency also named TED BOYD as vice president and managing director of Organic's Toronto office. Boyd will be responsible for managing all Canadian client relationships and business development efforts, focusing on the financial services, consumer and packaged goods, and communications sectors. Most recently, Boyd served as the president and general manager of Iceberg Media.

  • Moxie Interactive has named CHRIS BUETTNER, client services account supervisor; JUSTIN TENISCI senior project manager; and PETER STAFFORD client services group coordinator. OLIVIA MCKINSEY has been promoted to senior media planner and BETSEY HOWARD moves up to junior media planner. In addition, JULIE AGUIS has been promoted to a senior account executive, STEFANIE HENDERSON was named account executive, and LAURA SPAUGH moves to account supervisor.

  • Reuters has named ASTRID ZWEYNERT as its UK online editor. She will lead news coverage for the Reuters UK Web site. Zweynert has been with Reuters since 1994, and has worked in a number of senior roles at Reuters covering world and financial news, most recently serving as chief reporter/sub-editor for the UK online desk.

  • KATHRYN KOEGEL, research director of DoubleClick has left the company. While no replacement has been named, RICK BRUNER, research manager, DoubleClick, has taken on additional research responsibilities.

  • Knight Ridder's Real Cities Network has hired BRIAN ZIMMERMAN as its Southeast national accounts manager. Prior to joining Real Cities, he worked for AJC.com, the Web site of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Zimmerman held previous sales positions with Yahoo!, Cox Interactive, and Newsweek magazine.

  • United Talent Agency (UTA), a Hollywood talent and literary agency, has hired JONATHAN EPSTEIN, a leading figure in the video gaming and interactive media worlds, to open a San Francisco office for UTA. The agency hopes to expand its current video game and interactive operations into new areas representing the convergence of gaming, filmed entertainment, and the marketing and advertising worlds. Epstein was founding president and CEO of GameSpot.com and president of GameSpy.

  • GE Commercial Finance Corporate Financial Services has named DAVID F. WENTE managing director, business development. Wente returns to GE after four years with Bank of America/Fleet Boston Financial.

  • SCOTT OLRICH has joined Responsys as chief marketing officer, SEAN MEEHAN has been named general manager, channel marketing, and HEATHER PALMER has joined the company as director of ISP relations and deliverability. Prior to Responsys, Olrich was a founding executive and senior vice president at Topica, an e-mail marketing application service provider. Meehan had previously been vice president of sales for Bigfoot Interactive, an e-mail service provider. Prior to Bigfoot, Meehan served as vice president and general manager of e-mail development at Grey Direct. Palmer came to Responsys from Yesmail/infoUSA where she was also responsible for ISP relations and e-mail deliverability.

  • ALAN BLAUSTEIN has joined Sucherman Consulting Group as a senior consultant. Blaustein was most recently CEO of Flexplay Technologies.

  • Davler Media Group has appointed ELI MARCUS as co-publisher of City Guide magazine.

  • CMD has hired JASON M. RIDGE as an account director in the account service department. Ridge will manage several of CMD’s technology accounts and will assist clients in achieving their marketing goals. Most recently, Ridge was employed as a senior account manager for Via Training, where he managed all aspects of Web-based retail training programs for several key accounts.

  • SFGT, Philadelphia, has hired PATRICK DENTON as strategic planner, on all accounts. Denton's most recent position was account supervisor at The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., where he handled Nickelodeon, Intuit, and Timberland.

  • STEVE ROTH has been promoted to vice president new business development for EMG, a full-service, independent Hispanic advertising and promotions agency. Roth began working with EMG in 1999 on a freelance basis, and was named director new business development in 2002.

  • LEE SALAS has been named U.S. West Coast sales manager for Teletrax. Teletrax is a global digital video monitoring and media asset management service. Salas joins Teletrax from Burbank, Calif.-based Modern Video, where he was vice president of syndication sales distribution.
