  • MICHAEL ROTH has been named chief executive officer of Interpublic Group.DAVID BELL will move to the position of co-chairman. Bell took on the chairman and CEO titles in February 2003, succeeding JOHN DOONER, who returned to lead Interpublic's McCann WorldGroup unit. Roth joined the company's board in 2002 and chaired its audit committee until being appointed executive chairman in July 2004.

  • Kanoodle has promoted LANCE PODELL, currently president, to chief executive officer. Podell takes over the position of CEO from the company's founder, KENT KEATING, who will now serve as Kanoodle's chairman. Podell joined the company in December of 2003 to help launch its content division.

  • Mullen has promoted DRAYTON MARTIN from vice president, account director to senior vice president, account director. Currently, she manages the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Progress Energy, Eastern Bank and Ocean Development Group businesses.

  • VNU has named SUSAN D. WHITING executive vice president of the Media Measurement & Information (MMI) group. Whiting has been with Nielsen Media Research since 1978 and was named its president and CEO in 2002, a role she will continue to maintain. In addition, MICHAEL MARCHESANO of VNU Business Media U.S. will lead Nielsen Entertainment, which will remain as a division of MMI. Marchesano has been with the company since 1999 and was named president and CEO of VNU Business Media U.S. in 2001, a responsibility he will continue to hold.

  • ANDREW BENETT has been named executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Euro RSCG Worldwide's New York office. Benett will oversee the design and implementation of a wide range of initiatives to support clients' business and brand strategies and Euro RSCG's Creative Business Idea positioning. Benett joins the company from IPG's FutureBrand, where he has served as executive director, strategy and innovation, since 2003. His clients included MasterCard, Verizon Wireless, and Wendy's International.

  • Forbes.com has promoted MARK HOWARD to San Francisco office manager. Also, LAUREN WRAY has joined the West Coast sales team as a regional sales manager – Northwest Region. Wray, who has also been with Forbes.com for three years, was most recently a regional sales manager based in the New York City office.

  • SUSAN PARKES has joined PEOPLE as associate publisher, marketing. In her new position, Parkes will oversee all integrated marketing, creative services, merchandising, and event marketing for the magazine. Parkes joins PEOPLE from House & Garden, where she served as associate publisher/sales. Additionally, SIMONE ANTHONY-BROWN has been named senior manager, sales development at PEOPLE magazine. She was previously sales development manager at Essence magazine.

  • MICHAEL CLEMENTE has been named executive producer of ABC News Now. Clemente will oversee production of the 24/7 news channel, including the editorial and creative aspects of ABC News Now. Clemente was the senior broadcast producer of “20/20” in January 2002 prior to the launch of ABC News Now in July 2004.

  • KATHRYN KOEGEL, the former research and industry development director at DoubleClick is now the vice president of marketing for TV Guide Television, which includes the TV Guide Channel, interactive program guides, and a new video on demand launch.

  • Fathom Online has named SCOTT WADE chief technology officer. Wade will oversee all aspects of Fathom's strategic technology initiatives. Prior to joining Fathom, Wade was CTO and vice president of technology for AOL Time Warner -- Warner Music Group.

  • AMY CHERNOFF has been appointed to the new post of national advertising director at American Profile. Chernoff joined the magazine in 1999 and has been a regional sales director since then. Before joining the company, she was vice president of sales for Satellite Direct and Satellite Orbit at CommTek Communications.

  • Giant Magazine has named RENEE IFILL the director of marketing. In this position, she will be in charge of branding and promotional events for the magazine. Most recently, she served as director of promotions and events at Vogue and creative service director at GQ.

  • DOUGLAS CRAIG has been named vice president, programming for Discovery On Demand. Craig most recently served as vice president of programming and scheduling for Animal Planet. In his new role, Craig is responsible for the overall programming strategy of Discovery On Demand.

  • MediaSpan Group has named MARK ZAGORSKI, former president of WorldNow, as chief marketing officer, a newly created position. Zagorski will be responsible for all strategic marketing programs for MediaSpan's Harris & Baseview and First Media Works divisions. Prior to WorldNow, Zagorski worked at Modem Media where he was a group account director working with clients such as IBM, JP Morgan Chase, and MCI.

  • Regal CineMedia has promoted DOUG PULICK to senior vice president, research and analysis. Prior to joining Regal CineMedia in 2002 as vice president, research, Pulick was the vice president of Discovery Networks’ sales research department, overseeing the media research for six analog and six digital cable networks.

  • Active International has promoted LESLIE MOSES to vice president of its publication trade development group. Moses joined the company four years ago as a vice president in the print media department.

  • Entravision Radio has named BRIAN REED the vice president of sales, responsible for overseeing local advertising sales across the company's 21 radio markets. Reed most recently served as vice president and director of sales for Univision Radio.

  • Sigma Group has named SHANNON MORRIS partner. She was formerly vice president and managing director. Morris is responsible for the growth and management of new business endeavors and agency-wide operations and administration. She also oversees strategic communications, marketing programs, planning, and management services.

  • Los Angeles based interactive ad firm, AdDynamix has promoted JENNIFER FINE to director of business development, and SCOTT STEWART to director of strategic accounts. Most recently, Fine led the sales and marketing efforts for AdDynamix, and will now focus on expanding the network from direct marketing to include a brand driven platform. Stewart was previously a senior account executive with AdDynamix.

  • Mercury Media, a media buying firm within the direct response industry, has named STEVE NOBER president and COO. Nober joins Mercury Media from inQ, an Internet services and marketing company focused primarily on servicing the direct marketing industry, where he was the president and CEO for the past three years.

  • Media Marketing Solutions (MMS), part of WPP’s media investment management company GroupM, has named three industry veterans to its New York team: PHYLLIS TOSS will lead all client television and radio purchases as senior vice president and director of national broadcast; GEORGE COPPOLA will head marketing efforts as vice president and director of strategic communications for several accounts, including El Pollo Loco and the CommonHealth accounts Provigil and Aldara; and DAN MCGILLICK will work on the NovoNordisk and various CommonHealth accounts as manager of direct marketing.

  • Trafficmac has named JULIAN BARING as director, European operations. In this role, Baring will be responsible for managing operations, strategy, and client services associated with Trafficmac’s business in Europe.

  • BILLI WATLAND, most recently account executive, Northern California, Media Networks, has been named account manager, Mountain Sports Media.

  • LLKFB announced several key executive management changes. LOREEN BABCOCK, one of the agency’s founding partners and president, has been named chairman and CEO. In addition, DAVID FINKEL, previously chairman and CEO at Brann Worldwide, has joined the agency in the newly created position of president and chief operating officer (COO). HARRY KOENIG, the current COO and one of the agency’s founders, is leaving the company.

  • Intagio has hired PAUL WEINRIB as senior account director in the New York City office.
