  • JOEL SPICOLA has joined Turner Ad Group (TAG), a wholly owned subsidiary of Turner Media Group (TMG), as director of sponsorships. Spicola will focus on the sponsorship sales for programming blocks on TMG owned and operated networks, including an outdoor and a motors block on The Men's Channel and a fitness block on the Healthy Living Channel. Spicola was previously an account executive at Comcast, where he sold both local and national inventory.

  • Jumpstart Digital Marketing has promoted JENNIFER HILL from manager of ad operations to the newly created position of director of ad operations. Hill will be responsible for all advertising operations including ad serving, forecasting, trafficking, optimization and reporting.

  • O, The Oprah Magazine has named JAMES D'ADAMO as executive style director. D'Adamo was most recently American Fashion Director at Allure. Prior to that, he worked at Gruner & Jahr where he grew the fashion and retail business in both sales and management positions at YM and Fitness. D'Adamo replaces CYNTHIA CARROLL who is now at Vogue.

  • PETER GREEN was named senior vice president, national sales manager of weather.com. He will be based in New York City. Green had been vice president of national sales for weather.com with responsibility for the New York territory. Green will continue to lead the online field sales organization for weather.com, desktop weather, research and the interactive pricing team. Green joined The Weather Channel in 1999.

  • DAVID A. ANDELMAN has joined Forbes.com as executive editor, responsible for leading the site's team of industry writers. Andelman joins Forbes.com from The New York Daily News, where he was business editor since 2001.

  • Outside has named STEVE KENNEDY and TODD PETERS as account managers. Both Kennedy and Peters will work out of the New York sales office.

  • Boone/Oakley has promoted JESSICA STANFIELD from account supervisor to account director, responsible for NASCAR, HBO Video and Dialog Telecommunications. Previously, Stanfield was senior account executive at Loeffler Ketchum Mountjoy, Charlotte.

  • PETER COMPETELLO joined ML Rogers as an account director. Competello will be responsible for the Scotts Miracle - Gro Company account. Prior to joining ML Rogers, Competello was at Grey Worldwide most recently as vice president / management supervisor on the Consumer & Office Division of the 3M Company account. Competello also worked at Ogilvy & Mather on the Merck Zorcor account.

  • LAURIE HOWLETT has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president, strategic integration at FORTUNE. Previously, Howlett served as vice president, marketing. In addition, CHRISTINE O'DAY was promoted to midwest manager for FORTUNE's Chicago office where she'll be responsible for leading advertising efforts for the midwest region. Previously, O'Day was the National Luxury Goods Manager for FORTUNE in the New York office.

  • JOHN WALBERG has been named eastern advertising manager of Complex. Before joining Complex, Walberg was account manager at the now defunct Lifetime magazine. Prior to that, he served as senior account executive at In Touch Weekly.

  • Nielsen Media Research's Product Placement service, which provides comprehensive and accurate audience measurement for embedded advertising, has promoted ANNIE TOULIATOS to the position of director, product development and marketing. Touliatos will be responsible for the product and sales strategy of this service. Most recently, she was responsible for obtaining agency business and working closely with sister VNU companies on future strategic initiatives.

  • Choice Media has launched a Pay-Per-Click service for advertisers called GoText, Inc. The new subsidiary will be headed by ALLEN BAUM, named vice president of the group.

  • 24/7 Real Media has named STEVE S. GOLDBERG to vice president of Business Development. Goldberg will be responsible for growing the US 24/7 Web Alliance, and promoting 24/7 Real Media's suite of services to publishers across the US. Goldberg comes to 24/7 after serving as director of business development at Eyeblaster. While there, Goldberg developed and maintained relationships with advertiser, agency, and publisher clients.

  • The Association of National Advertisers (ANA) named BILL DUGGAN to the role of executive vice president. Duggan joined the ANA in May 2000, bringing 20 years of advertising and marketing experience gained working on the agency side.

  • Vendare Media has named LINDA FAYNE LEVINSON a partner at McKinsey & Company. Levinson was most recently a partner at GRP Partners, a venture capital firm. In that capacity, she invested in technology-driven financial services firms, Internet travel, media, services and e-commerce companies.

  • MARIA KENNEDY has been promoted to vice president, advertising sales, direct response for Discovery Networks, U.S. Kennedy oversees Discovery's direct response and paid programming sales team and is responsible for all paid programming time and short-form direct response sales efforts for Discovery's 13 U.S. networks and BBC AMERICA. Kennedy most recently served as director, direct response, advertising sales where she led the development of the direct response sales unit for FitTV, which launched in December 2003.

  • Scripps Networks has promoted JANICE BRANDON to senior vice president of affiliate ad sales. She oversees the local ad sales insertion efforts for all of the Scripps Networks lifestyle brands, as well as affiliate distribution for Shop At Home. JEFF WILKE was promoted to VP, affiliate marketing, Scripps Networks. Wilke will be responsible for developing initiatives aimed at driving new distribution for Great American Country, with the goal of raising the consumer awareness and network ratings. Also, PETER CLEM was promoted to vice president, Broadband and VOD production. He will focus on developing broadband and on-demand programming for the Scripps Networks Web sites. Clem will work with the Scripps Emerging Media team to explore new opportunities for migrating brands to new platforms. Lastly, TAMMY ESSER was promoted to VP, viewer services, Scripps Networks. Esser is responsible for managing the company's outbound newsletter service, which distributes monthly e-newsletters to more than 35 million subscribers.

  • FreeCar Media has appointed RYAN TODD HARRIS to the position of vice president of sales. Harris will be responsible for sales throughout the western half of the US. Most recently, he worked at Business.com.

  • TruEffect has hired ARI KAUFMAN as vice president of sales. Kaufman will direct business development and sales activities for TruEffect's suite of online ad serving and analytics products.

  • DAVID SHEEHAN has been promoted to director of ABC News VideoSource. He was one of the original employees of ABC News Video Source when it launched in April 1995.

  • Revenue Science announced that SCOTT GREENBERG has joined the company's Business Development team in New York. Greenberg, most recently vice president, sales channel partnerships at WhenU, will focus on developing partnerships between Revenue Science and its key publisher clients.

  • Media Contacts has promoted ERIKA NARDINI to group account director in the Boston office. She will manage the Vonage and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line accounts.
