  • Compete, a predictive analytics firm, has named three auto industry veterans to its automotive practice. JEREMY CRANE joins the company as a senior associate and FRANK HANENBERGER and DEAN MACKO have been hired as directors of the automotive practice.


  • CSTV co-founder and executive vice president CHRIS BEVILACQUA has been named president of the network. In this new role, he will develop all university and athletic conference partnerships. BARBARA SHULMAN, senior vice president and general counsel for the network, has been named executive vice president, general counsel, and will oversee all legal matters pertaining to CSTV Networks. Additionally, chief financial officer SCOTT J. MARSHALL has been named executive vice president, and will continue to oversee the company's financial matters.


  • WILLIAM C. JARIS has been promoted to vice president, affiliate and technology sales, East Coast, at TACODA. Jaris joined TACODA in August 2004 as director, East Coast Publisher Sales.


  • Enterprise Advertising has hired DOUG POAD as director of strategic planning and promoted SANDY WATT to group account director for Tim Hortons – National and SUE BELBECK to group account director for Tim Hortons - Regional, as well as McCormick Canada.


  • HGTV has added GABRIELLA MESSINA and ANDREW SINGER to its team as directors of program production. 


  • NICOLE ESPOSITO POLLY has been promoted to decorating director at Country Living. Esposito Polly will be responsible for overseeing brand development and new product launches, managing staff, and working with the editor-in-chief in reviewing articles and layouts.


  • JEFF FELDHAHN has joined Wahlstrom Group, a Stamford, Conn.-based Yellow Pages advertising agency as vice president, account planning. Previously, Feldhahn worked for TMP Worldwide.


  • MARK SONNENBERG has been named to the newly created post of head of West Coast entertainment for Discovery Networks, U.S. Sonnenberg will work with management teams from all of Discovery's U.S. networks to expand relationships with the Los Angeles-based creative community. Sonnenberg joins Discovery from E! Networks, where he served as executive vice president, entertainment for E!, Style, and E! Online, overseeing all of E! Networks' content areas.


  • INEZ ALBERT has joined the Hong Kong office of Forbes.com as regional sales director for the Asia Pacific region. Albert was most recently client services director for Emphasis, an in-flight publisher and in-flight media sales company.


  • TracyLocke has hired RON ASKEW, most recently CMO of Coors Brewing Company, as its CEO. He replaces ED WINTER who will become chairman of TracyLocke.


  • Nellymoser, a provider of interactive mobile media solutions, has hired MICHAEL FOWLER and DANIEL WEST as vice president of solutions and vice president of marketing respectively.


  • McGarrah/Jessee hashired BECKY BROCK as account manager and LAUREN MARKAVERICH as a media planner.


  • Meredith Corporation has named JAMES T. CARR publisher of Family Circle magazine. Additionally, LINDA FEARS has been named acting editor-in-chief of Family Circle. Most recently, Carr was publisher of Midwest Living and Fears served as editor-in-chief, new business development for G + J USA. Lastly, JACK BAMBERGER has been named vice president, corporate sales for the Meredith Publishing Group. He joins Meredith from Gruner + Jahr USA where he spent the last four years, most recently as vice president corporate sales and marketing.


  • EMILIO W. CIVIDANES, a privacy lawyer, has joined Venable LLP as a partner in its Washington office. Cividanes was formerly a partner with DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary in Washington, D.C.


  • Draft New York has hired three strategic planners in its New York office to join the agency's Insight Services team. LIN DAVIS has been named vice president, group director; while ERIC SALKIN and SARAH THOMPSON have been named vice presidents, associate directors of strategic planning.


  • Gospel Music Channel has appointed JEFF BROWN as director of affiliate sales, central region. Most recently, he served as regional sales manager for Great American Country.


  • Freedom Orange County Information, publisher of The Orange County Register and its related products, has named STEVEN BARTH to the newly created position of vice president, interactive. In his new role, Barth oversees the creation of strategic business, sales and marketing plans for continued Internet growth. He most recently served as vice president, general manager of interactive publishing at the Los Angeles Times.


  • Meredith Corporation promoted DAVID BALL to vice president/consumer marketing for the Meredith Publishing Group. Ball replaces KARLA JEFFRIES who was promoted to vice president/finance and consumer marketing for the Meredith Publishing Group.


  • Concrete Pictures has named KEITH JOHNSTON as creative director. Johnston will identify new business efforts, maintain agency relationships, and design and produce animation for broadcast brands and commercial visual effects projects. Prior to joining Concrete Pictures, Johnston was CGI director, visual effects for GTN Inc.
